thats why its good to do stuff on your own, even tie lug nuts i tighten em but not like its the last time ill visit the area, damn mechanics make everything so tight like i usually tell em to try with their owns and see if they can remove that filter lol they be like no, then i be like put it to where your hand can turn it without tool lol

You don't take the gasket off the new oil filter. Just put a thin layer oil around the gasket on top.

I changed the rear hatch actuator on my 11 escape the other day, but I’m now getting a rear hatch ajar indicator on my display cluster. Any advice on adjust the alignment or where that sensor would be?

That car is not made in China. Ford has been using Metric fasteners since the early 1980's. Nothing new there.

In my wife's Escape, there are controls for the info display just behind the steering wheel on the left side. After the oil change, you can reset the oil change tracker. I think it tracks it by the mileage you have driven after you reset it.

I just changed my oil and my xlt escape has the same settings n display buttons that when you click through the settings (middle button) you'll come to needs oil change display and then you hit the 3rd button on rt(3 buttons total, 1st is mainly for odometer displays, 2nd button is settings and 3rd button is the reset button). Once you click through the settings where it displays NEED OIL CHANGE, you then click the RESET button and the display should change to OIL 100%.

You don't need to oil the gasket filter because the gasket designed to prevent any oil leak

Yes you do , it helps with tightening the filter on
