Good Info, bought mine used last year 49,000 miles & have done drain & fill twice so far 4 1/2 qts each time …fluid was dark & never changed before…noticeable difference , pink now & shifts like new….one main reason I like older vehicles , newer ones are sealed & you have to pay & trust shop to do it….no thanks

you cant change the filter unless you remove the transmission and split it in half. They are internal and are supposed to last the life of the transmission.

How many quarts did it take total to get good level? I just bought a 3.0 V6 AWD Limited. Is yours very loud almost like a diesel sound at idle?

My manual also says to change the filter at 150k. Do you have a video for that?

Good luck with that. The filter is deep in the transmission which requires major disassembly. You have to change the fluid on a regular basis in order to keep the filter from getting too dirty.

Yes, the 6F35 xmission must be dropped and cracked open to put new filter in. Piss poor design by Ford and GM

Just FYI, doing a drain and fill on the 2012 Ford Escape does not drain the transmission fluid in the torque converter, which holds around 4 quarts.

That why you drain it fill it drive it down the road 20 miles come back and do it again....about 3 times repeatedly doing this will get all the fluid out

Btw, heck yes. Do it asap if you didn't do it already. Technically they are saying at 150k to ford spec, but I'm at 108k and finding some shift stutter. I think then once it starts to be higher miiles - do it again in 10k, then 30k .

My 2009 was shifting into 3rd until 4500 rpm. Which was very high for that gear. I flushed my transmission 3 times and now it runs better than ever . The fluid was very dirty. It was actually showing the shift pressure solenoid code before I fixed it.

New fluid each time. Make Sure to measure how much comes out so you can add the right amount back in.

@@justlg3359 I just tried to get the fluid cleaner by filling and draining it a few times. The other option is to pull out the whole motor and transaxle. Try filling it and draining a few times and hopefully that helps out whatever is going on.
