I still remember seeing a comic book cover about the "Shocking Origins of Casper" which was much more gruesome. The kid was playing a sandlot baseball game with some friends and tried to catch a ball which landed in the street nearby, just as a 1940's era "steam" roller suddenly caught his foot.

Kat's mom is in contact with Casper's dad implying he crossed over & made it to heaven. Casper stayed behind as a ghost so his dad wouldnt be lonely, since his dad is in heaven does that mean Casper can never cross over?

I always assumed he died from pneumonia or scarlett fever. I never understood why both Kat's dad and Casper couldn't go into the machine together to become human again. There was enough serum in one jar for both of them.

They might come out as some horrifying fused body would be my guess. Or they might become the Casper equivalent of Tuvix from Star Trek: Voyager, except they wouldn't have Janeway around to give the order to split them.

But to the point of Tuvix, Tuvok and Neelix find an alien orchid that reproduces by merging its DNA with other plants, and this ability is accidentally activated and translated to the two crewmembers during the transporter rematerialization which fuses them into a singular being calling himself Tuvix.

Probably forgot and then moved on, seems consistent that they loose their memory of who they were before and since his goal was to bring Casper back in life, if he's dead, he doesn't have any real unfinished business if his goal was to be with his son and he thought that he would now be with his son. The man completed the machine and likely couldn't figure out how to get Casper into it, so likely he was ready for death, but didn't understand his son wouldn't be where he went.

It is actually interesting the way he says death is like "being born all over again ie born again. When I first saw the movie, very long time ago, I loved it instantly. Years later I realized when I learned more that the way Casper described dying was very ecurate. I didn't realize this until the priest said the same thing to me when my mom died.

Honesty when I was little my mom would let me watch Casper the friendly Ghost 👻 I haven't heard of it. Until I started to watch every episode and then after that when I started to watch live-action Casper 1995 movie the way that I was like how much I really enjoyed that movie 👏❤️ I don't care what anybody else or what they say about this Casper movie I think to me I really enjoy it and it's a good movie. When I got a little bit older I started to understand how and I'm like how did Casper die and I'm like oh wow 😳😢 poor Casper I feel really bad about him, he is a friendly Ghost just want to make friends honestly I would be Casper's friend that Casper had always been my favorite character
