Being one of the most powerful weapons mentioned in Hindu texts and epics, it is wielded by Lord Shiva, one of the members of the holy Trinity. The goddess Durga also holds the Trishul amongst other weapons and attributes in her hands and is said to have received these celestial weapons from both Shiva and Vishnu.

There are many misconceptions and confusion. But by what I've heard from people who knows about such stuff, Mahadev himself created Trishula. Another deadly weapon Sudarshan Chakra also was created by Mahadev and later gifted to Vishnu. Mahadev meditates on Formless Shiva. Also Shiva is Formless infinity, present everywhere (in which lies less than 1% of physical stuff= Creation) and Mahadev is direct personification of Shiva (Represented as Lingam). Lingam= Liyate+Gamate. Liyate meaning= Everything is born out of it. Gamate= Everything ultimately has to dissolve back into it. Lingam is also known as Hiranyagarbha, meaning Cosmic Womb.

The second (that brahma and vishnu fight of whom being the greatest) story that you've mentioned in the video is not true, lord shiva did cut the 5th head of brahma but the story is different...brahma was about to create a 5th veda which will bring misfortune to the mankind that's why shiva cut his 5th head. Whenever it's Come to supreme in Trinity we start fighting BTW Shiva and Vishnu... But can't people get that they are the superme powers who took two form to do Lelaas and none of them is great and lesser they are energiese and presented themselves in both form to show the differnt parts of universe. Vishnu make this universe run and Shiva create the change in universe.. Vishnu is with shri(lakshmi) and Shiva is with prakriti (Patvari)which both is needed by universe. Why we have to fight over it who is supreme they worship each other but they are the same power. We have to pray them in whichever form we feel connected to. You are not a Bhakt of one if you belittle other .Its basically abhramic religion ideas to have single God and not to accept other. And hence they are not 100% God Vishnu but embodies of him. And speaking of Lord Vishnu, then you should know that Vishnu never said that Shiva is his presiding deity. Lord Vishnu never worshiped Shiva directly, only his AVATARS has worshiped Shiva due to *_formalities._* You believe it or not, Narayana and Shiva are two forms of the same one परब्रह्म, so why would Narayana worship himself as his God? The greatness of Lord Shiva is hidden even in the holy name of supreme Nārāyānā.

It is a regional folklore, which says that once Lord Surya had gotten too egoistic because of His life-giving powers and tried to destroy life on Earth. That is when Lord Mahadev ended Surya Dev for his arrogance. At this moment Lord Surya's father Saptarishi Kashyap cursed Mahadev that He would have to behead His own son in the future. Once Lord Surya's pride died with his body, He was resurrected back to life for fulfilling His duties. Not sure about the origin of the story but that is the summary of it.
