I’m pretty sure he was half kidding. There is DEFINITELY a point where the sub is way too much and drowns out the entire mix and makes it muddy af in the low mids 😅 But technically he’s not wrong either, bass and drums are the most essential part of dance music so as long as it hits and is powerful you have a song lol

Can someone explain what he was doing with the Moog multifilter? Was that layering?
@SolStateMusic4 жыл бұрын
I cut a lot of filtering out of the edit. The goal is to use the filter add movement and variation. I believe he layer the Moog filter on top of the sample creating a pulsing-filter effect. Guy then automated the filter intensity in the breakdown.

So am I getting this right: Oxford Inflator = limiter he uses only for it's coloring? Drawmer S73 = light compression, but mostly for coloring? Gem Dopamine = exciter? Have anybody tried these plugins? Are they worth buying, or is it just subtle sauce if your stuff already sounds great? Love this channel btw! :)
@SolStateMusic4 жыл бұрын
Oxford for more in your face sound. Drawmer is MB compressor, so yes Guy uses for light compression. Gem dopamine is an exciter combined with de-esser, effectively a less harsh exciter. I've tested 2/3 and own 1/3 (s73) Inflator, its very subtle S73 can sound nice on master Gem dopamine I'd buy if I didn't already have Audio Thing Type A, which is very similar. None are must buys - it just depends what fills a hole in your collection.
@rasmussgaard25964 жыл бұрын
@@SolStateMusic Thanks dude! Type A is actually on my wishlist on PB without really knowing why lol :) What do you use it for? Have you tried Type B and Valves from them as well? S73 looks pretty cool, but I can't afford it right now. Inflator is kinda cheap, but if it's very subtle, I don't think I will end up using it much.

May just be a question of taste - and I'm no pro - but the bottom end of this remix sounds like mush to me. I mean, no separation of sounds and way too much rumble. Or is that the style of this track?
