Like a used toyota or honda, 5+ years old but low mileage, or a significantly older but low mileage and well cared for lexus or even a very old luxury vehicle like an old mercedes diesel. I’m in the same position (not a millionaire, but debt and mortgage free etc) and I have to be very wary of suitors who inevitably are divorced with children, have maintenance payments and live in a grotty little bedsit who are solely hunting for a career woman to ease their financial burden. My first advise is not to get married. Go talk to older men who were successful and got destroyed by family court. If you just have to get married then start by looking at wealthy older people who you wouldn't mind having as in laws and see if they have daughters. Sort of a top down approach. Higher a p.i. and check into everything. Make sure that you are actually dealing with a successful family and not fakers. The more you learn about women the less you will want to get married.

I would make it an absolute rule to: 1.) Tell her about your wealth well before you propose and 2.) Nahh, that’s just not true- you must not have ever been in a scenario like this guy. I know of a specific couple where the guy is worth 40M+ dating a girl worth nothing. The guy went back to school to get his Ph.D and met his wife, from a 1st gen family, who’s broke there. It’s just about making sure you are compatible and share interests. The aforementioned couple is incredibly happy and have a lab together, they have similar hobbies and compete against each other while obviously being in love, and supporting each other.

People haven't elaborated enough on this. There are a number of reasons that prenups don't work. In most jurisdictions they have a time limit. They can not stipulate child support. The closer they are sogned to a marriage, the easier it is to claim that it was sprung upon you and you were coerced into it. It could be thrown out due to allegations of spousal abuse. The bride can also claim that she did not have proper legal council when she signed. Another reason would be that you omitted financial information when it was signed. So what are they good for? Possibly good for the expectations of the marriage being laid out, and also for lining the pockets of lawyers.

Many years ago I had a girlfriend in her 20s who bought a new Corvette. She wanted me to buy us a house with my life savings while she used hers on the new Corvette. I told her that was unfair and not good Christian stewardship. . She really wanted to marry me and was very pushy about it-even though I had never proposed. I cancelled her wedding plans and moved on with my life. I felt like I had dodged a bullet . That Corvette had saved me from marrying a spendthrift woman. I was heartbroken, but wiser and better off. Now I'm very successful financially and cautious about who I date. Ideally, the woman should be beautiful on both the inside and outside. I use the story of that Corvette in the Financial Peace classes that I teach at my church.

If it was in person then I agree, but in this case he is anonymously voicing it out to a financial advisor who is also in a wealthy position. The caller over the radio doesn’t have the time to introduce himself or his hobbies, he just wants to get the key facts over and an idea of what he should do. It’s no different to a caller over the phone in an opposite situation, in financial difficulty and seeking advice on what to do.

I mean, just get to know the woman, you don't need to tell her anything about how much you make or infer it with a fancy car or expensive clothes. Gold diggers are attracted to that. If you meet someone and it gets serious, or close to engagement that topic will come up, but at that point it won't be a determining factor. But in the meantime, I wouldn't give money any focus in the relationship. Also, Look for a girl who is driven in her own right as well. I live in miami and I've worked and gone out with wealthy guys, but I make my own money. There are driven women out there, who know how to handle money and have their own calling. I think a woman like that, will complement your personality and drive as well. Look for a women who wants to build an empire with you (before she knows you are well on your way). As a Christian, ask the Holy Spirit to give you discernment as well. Lastly, If you don't want her to be after the money, don't show her you got it. You can treat her, but no need to make it rain every weekend, lol. Use wisdom. Also, instead of using that money to buy fancy stuff, start investing it in improving yourself, invest it in multifamily or something that will continue to pay you back. But of course, do the research first, don't want to do something foolish and lose it. Anyway, just some ideas. God bless your journey!
