I think although managing anxiety or negative thoughts in general may seem less preferable than not having 'em at all, it could possibly be more empowering and engaging! Taking that stand against negativity gives you courage and hope for continual improvement. Beautiful thoughts as always! :)

what if the thoughts are the same but the affirmations or the challenging things we want to say dont have the same effect? does that mean I'll need multiple to challenge it with?

kykoo8920 I thinks it’s normal for it not to have the same effect, it’s probably not as powerful as your negative thought. The negative thought is really deep and has been reinforced. Id say keep trying it, even if it doesn’t make a major impact. The efforts add up and even a little bit helps. I’d also look at making the challenging thing more powerful, something that you feel more when you say it. This sounds a bit crazy to some people, but you can also try saying the challenging statement while looking in the mirror, yelling it, saying it while jumping, or even while punching a punching bag! All of those things drive the message home more.
