Plus i kept going to gym constanly but losing strength . Lifting lots less weight now. Plus what causing taking 7 days to recover. Doing sets of 20 to 30 reps. Thinking more reps get more results . Its not working

As a 64 year old male this sounds correct. Shame y’all have no gyms near me

I still cant add weight a year later going to gym 3 times a week.. tried adding reps. Go from 20 reps to 25 reps. Next me so score . Then tried reduce weight and lift it 40 to 55 reps in a set. As told lift light weights high reps for strength. Iam not seeing much results. Often do a set of 20 to 30 reps in a set. Do like 2 to 3 sets

It's not a rocket science, just hard work, sweat and blood. That's hard. I'm in dig in that for over 40 y. (59 y. old fart ), but after last lockdown I started lifting ,,very heavy'' . Now I'm so close to be strongest I have ever been. Just give me couple months.

But me stuck at same weight for a year . As told light weights high reps. For years we been told light weights build most strength..what try heavier and less reps. If light weights isn't the way anymore. High reps like 20 to 30 in a set. One is saying sets of ten. Always been told do like 20 to 30.

After i squat 1.7x bodyweight 48 hours is not enough anymore, for squat and deadlift i need 72 hours rest to keep progressing. So now i do heavy on monday and friday. Wednesday is light Monday : squat, press, deadlift Wednesday : bp, row/chinup, back extension Friday : squat, press, row/deadlift So far it works well, but Is it optimal or can i tweak something?

Are you sleeping and eating enough? If not, I wouldn’t tweak the program and look at those factors first

Yeah. That’s how muscles work. Sad thing that people don’t understand the value of exercising.

Please how about the order of exercise is it important Which exercise must be first and then second then 3rd ???????
@thestrengthco2 жыл бұрын
The Squat is the best to start with, then a pressing exercise will rest the lower body before deadlifts. The more advanced you get the more this will change.

I still cant add weight to my bench press for over a year. Going 3 days a week. One myscle group per week . My workout is,about 3 hours long doing high reps and light weights. Why take 7 days to recover at age 50. But when i was 25 years old recovery time was 3 days. Why taking 7 days now. 3 to 4 sets of 20. Going from alost every machine. Now a year later my bench press and shoulders dropped.. longer recovery time problem at age 50 I didn't have it take that long to recover when I was 20. What does age change time recovery takes
