ISTP cooks dish people want to eat INTP cooks dish people didnt knew they wanted
@lulukrassova21964 жыл бұрын
My ex-husband and I were chefs and this is so accurate. We worked together and he would create menus catering exactly to what people wanted, then I would take that and evolve it, or create a special that would be novel and delicious. Or he also knew how to take my ideas and make them a reality, or I would develop his creation and expand it into something he didn't even think of. The problems occurred at home because we would both stupid zone each other (I would be a walking accident and he didn't have the patience to think through complex ideas) and we often neglected each other when we needed someone the most

LOL, this INTP often labels everyone a hypocrite..."myself included". This video was really interesting. Yes, I absolutely agree that an INTP wants your "good intent"; this is very important to me personally. "Working things backwards", yep. Because if you know the final result or product, you can always, always break it down to its components and figure out WHY is it what it is...which I loooove to do haha. I AM skilled at reading peoples' intentions and motivations and at pattern recognition and yet I so frequently in the past have not done the right thing and immediately remedied the situation...and I really resonate with you saying that we need to do better at kicking the loser people in our lives out rather than simply turning on the apathy in order to stay comfortable. Yeah, I do realize that I value my own comfort above most things most of the time; thanks for articulating it. I am just absolutely confused now. I have traits that go with both groups. I'm both a mechanic and a design engineer. I like abstract thought, but it must lead to a practical end. It makes so much sense hearing about his past though, building motorized vehicles, tattoo guns, and explosives all the while just not going to school but still instead getting a ged with absolute ease. I love coming to this channel to get read to absolute filth. Thanks, Dad. Real talk: I'm enjoying learning more about the ISTP at present, as I've always typed as an INTP, but it never seemed to properly reflect how much of an overly aggro tinker-fiend I am. Your breakdown has me convinced I'm at minimum strongly ISTP-leaning, particularly the example about nEVER touching an ISTP's stuff while they're making things. I'm a cinematographer, and while I'm typically pretty zen, the easiest way to get me to explode on set and rip people to shreds seemingly unprovoked is for some utterly unrelated pleb like a producer or editor asking "ooh, what if we do it like this" and touching my camera or fiddling with my lamps. Your channel is such a valuable wealth of intel for hearing the different types of cognition explained in practical terms and mapped onto the actuality of human existence rather than the weird nebulous platitudes you usually get discussing typology with people who don't actually know anything about what determines type behaviours. Keep up the good work!

It's very true what this young man speaks of as a istp we view the general public as "vertical cadavers" ! EXAMPLE: If we're with a group that is stranded and doesn't know what to do, we simply don't speak but strike out and find shelter materials, water sources, food sources, animal trails, usually within a eight hour period, we'll let the rest of the group feel the pain of thirst, hunger, and lack of shelter for a 24 hour period, so when we do speak they will listen ! That way their confidence level rises quickly and they learn not to waste time or effort ! \~/

I learned to build car engines from a guy who has a lot of ISTP traits. He would sometimes misplace his tools, and he'd fly into a curse-filled rage every time he did. It was actually entertaining to watch. His work area is disorganized, a *STJ nightmare, but he worked faster and more effectively than anyone I've known when he's interested in a project. I generally test INTP and seem to lack Se traits, but I learned a lot from him. He likes to drive more aggressively than me, I built my car around some sort of silly internal principle and only drive it rough when I'm feeling it. I picked up some ISTP "influence" from him as a mentor; to the point where my hobby is the steretypical ISTP set, but my love of writing rambling paragraphs and essays, seemingly nonsense storytelling and lack of presence in the sensory (?reality?) or whatever people are talking about pretty much disqualifies me from being one.

58:45 he did that on purpose. As an intp even when you seek revenge you leave a back door for redemption. He wanted them to see what he had done and what he could gave done. It was meant to make them reflect on their actions not a slip up on his part . If he left something, believe me it wasn't an oversight it was intentional. View it as a mercy call. It was a warning shot not to make the same mistake twice in the future. He was hard but not heartless in his revenge. Don't give yourself too many props for saving the day. Even that "oversight" that was his doing too. It's exactly what I would have done, pressured by my honor bound tendencies toward righteousness. I would have left you a backdoor and would only make it accessible for those intellectually apt enough to find it. Don't be so cocky in your own abilities. I've personally played many an entp like a fiddle, letting them think they've surely the upper hand so they could have their ego. CSJ gives the right explanation when talking about the parent and critic teaming up hence TiNx ie "Speculative thinking forging ahead with intuition". The vertness of said intuition not specified by Jung. ISTP = TiSx. It makes sense that Si would be a strong unvalued function in the ISTP given that it is a sensory introvert. Also, INTP is a intuitive introvert so Ni is going to be a strong unvalued function. Jung's description of Introverted (subjective) Thinking in Psychological Types (AKA The Psychology of Individuation) is heavily biased towards Ti working with Ni in the background : "... is the development and presentation of the subjective idea that primordial symbolical image standing more or less darkly before the inner vision. It's aim, therefore, is never concerned with an intellectual reconstruction of concrete actuality, but with the shaping of that dim image into a resplendent idea." - That folks, is Ti working with Ni. I've it before and I'll say it again: "The INTP fish does not know it's wet with the Ni it swims in."

I agree I don't mind him. People I avidly avoid are INFJs and INTJs. I honestly prefer extroverted types, they don't mind when I want to be alone, while introverts are a bit more high maintenance ironically and seem to require more reassurance which I'm frankly just bad at giving. I can't deal with intuitive types usually. C.S Joseph is someone educated on these matters though, and can easily make up for that N trait lol

@@Alarycia As an ISTP i strongly agree that INFJs and INTJs are the worst case scenarios for the ISTPs, had experience with both of them which were friendships and they both didn't go well at all, in fact the worst possible thing ever. Extroverted types sure are better since they leave you a lot of space but maybe ISTJs could be a possibility aswell to go along with.

Yep. I can personally verify the part where you stated that we need ample amount of time to reflect on everything before taking any further action/s. One of the things that really pisses me off quickly is when someone asks me for urgent responses despite telling them to allow me a good few minutes to fully understand everything that there is with what you're asking. Not really good being a frontman for anything customer-facing. I really hate it, with a passion, when i get interrupted in the midst of my brain-storming sessions. Though i did get better but still... i prefer not to be interrupted when i'm already working/thinking on whatever you have came up to me for. For the love of god. While i don't fish for recognition, just me seeing that you are having a good time or are satisfied with what i presented to you is enough recognition i could ever wish to get.... though i wouldn't mind pizza as a mode of payment. As for being a doormat, well.. Ne parent is aware of the possibility that we are manipulated. It is also aware of the possibility that what if it isn't? Backed up with our Si child, i can literally take a good beating, both physical and mental.

It happens for years since when i was child until now i grow up as a teenager. Very good description. As an istp, I didn't feel you were too theoretical. It was actually refreshing. That Ne hero hanging out with the Ni child like you said. I couldn't figure out my type for a long time. Self discovery is truly the way to a lot of realizations. You said some key points. Especially portraying Fi super ego. When I tell someone it's a bad idea to mess with me because I'm going to ruin your life. Thank God they listen because I am not playing. I've noticed that my ENFP Foreman loves working with me because my Ti hero. I get things done he doesn't expect me to be very good at right away. I jump to conclusions about people and he has the ability to get me to see with Ne hero that I shouldn't be so harsh. It's a good relationship.

I'm and INTP with an ISTP brother. He gave up on school in grade school after they threatened expulsion because he ran a bootleg candy shop at the school during the 80's. so he began doing the minimum to pass as he saw it as meaningless. once he got in 7th grade the only class he cherished was shop class. he was placed in remedial classes with the mentally challenged (small school, same administration as grade school) but the teacher in the remedial course immediately identified him as very intelligent and deduced that my brother had just given up on school. So this teacher tried for months to get my brother to reengage with his education, but my brother clung to the past mistake that the school had made in shutting him down. Finally Mr. Cooper (the remedial teacher) found out about the past and sought to get my brother to help with fund raising for the remedial class as come senior year they wouldn't be able to go on their normal class trip (paid for by the fundraising from year 7-12 in High school), so he kept pushing my brother till he finally broke and told the teacher that if he got involved in the fund raising the Administration would shut him down, the teacher repeatedly told him that they only shut him down as on-premise sales by any individual is not permitted and if he is fund raising for the class it would be allowed. My brother promised him that they would shut him down within 3 months if he started up sales again. Mr. Cooper promised that they wouldn't, Mr. Cooper was wrong, but that happens about 2 and a half months from now in this story. Mr. Cooper asked how my brother would fund raise. Raffle? Car Wash? Sell those overly commercialized candy bars that schools always use? My Brother said no, he would start up his candy shop, but this time he would go bigger. My brother turned one of the rooms in the remedial center into a full blown candy shop by loaning the class the startup funds (my brother had a large sum of money from repairing Lawnmowers and ATVs) He had my dad make trips to the wholesaler 2 hours away to make purchases at wholesale costs without taxes as it would be for resale. 2 and a half months later the school admin shut him down, FBLA, FHA, and FFA and the other classes had complained that they weren't able to raise any money as my brother had outcompeted them in everything they tried. My brother told Mr. Cooper "See? I told you they couldn't let me do as I wished. They couldn't let me succeed." My brother quit trying once again and only just barely graduated HS. His remedial class continued without my brothers help fund raising for the rest of the years in High School. Jon worked repairing motors but had moved on to full vehicle repair, and was financially independent from my parted while a Junior in HS. Come senior class trip, his remedial class spend 2 weeks in Florida (1 week at Disney World) all expenses paid plus spending money for the whole class and Mr. Cooper and Mr. Cooper didn't even have to drive them as they were able to hire a chartered bus, 98% of the money was earned in that 2 and a half month stretch. My Brother once he graduated has never let anyone get in a position that they can stop him. He once took me out to eat at a suit and tie restaurant while he was wearing his greasy shop clothes. When I asked if he felt underdressed, he replied while looking around at the finely dressed customers around him, he said " the way I see it I am worth more than the rest of these people combined, then he stopped a waiter and said "Hey,, I want some of those flaming peaches shit I saw you bring those other people" Zero Fucks given. My Brother still chuckles and says "Remember when a retard outcompeted FBLA and FHA and FFA, and had to cry to the powers that be, to stop me so they could 'Compete'." He runs a scrap metal business, and is known as one of the most brutally shrewd businessmen in the region.

ISTP's build IT forward and INTP's build IT backward. As an INTP born in 1971, perhaps it could be said that INTP's are much more philosophical and searching for the Truth and meaning behind reality and how it changes over time, while ISTP's are much more concrete and see reality as it is or could be. INTP's see the big picture and then add the details later. IT might just come down to when and where someone is born and the alignment of the planets and stars at birth (Generational Theory is one of my favorite topics). It is all just a cycle within a cycle within a cycle. Thanks for another great video. The other chapters in this book cover Civilization and Cultural shifts using the stars and the three outer planets (Astrology) if anybody is interested in reading more. Of course, having my rising sign and mars sign both in Aquarius (a fixed air sign all about thoughts and humanity), I could use my own birth chart to show exactly why it is I find it so fascinating...and why I am an INTP (Moon and Neptune in Sagittarius...all about Truth). philosopherswheel.com/generations.htm
