2001 BMW Z3 3.0i with M Sport package. BC Racing Coilovers (1" drop all around), BMW Style 32 wheels, silver exterior, black interior, 12mm spacer in the rear, ZF 5 Speed manual, front strut tower brace, rear half cage, spare tire delete, A/C delete. Till this day I regret selling that car, I wish I had never did it. It was the perfect enthusiast car. Reliable, fun, and unique without costing thousands of dollars. I bought mine for like $7,500 and even after the upgrades and Michelin Pilot Sport tires I was just barely over $10,000. The M54B30 engine was one of the greatest engines ever made by BMW. Strong, robust, and had a strong inline 6 howl. The ZF 5 Speed was honestly shit, but the rest of the car made up for it. Hands down the best car I've ever owned. A car so good that even after I sold it, the guy who bought it (total stranger) called me the next day and thanked me lol. I was like yeah man, I know. Take good care of her 😔

Mine was a 1972 Pinto Runabout. The first new car I bought, very economical, EXTREMELY dependable, fun to drive, and very convenient for hauling things.

I wouldn't mind owning a Pinto at some point, maybe a wagon.

@@youtoobe169 My second Pinto was a 1980 Wagon. It was also a great car.

Never really had any what you’d call great cars, legendary cars, but we had a 4 door manual shift Suzuki Sidekick it didn’t have a lot of options, was slow as molasses, but it was unstoppable and dependable and looked kind of cool, we named it our lil goat.

Best car: 1999 Toyota Solara. Got a crazy good deal on it, most reliable car I've ever owned, cheap parts and easy to work on. It's kept more money in my pocket than any car I've ever owned, and for a daily driver that has always been the most important thing for me. Favorite car: 2001 Mustang Bullitt. Has a great factory exhaust sound and it just has a raw mechanical feel from the engine, clutch, transmission, and suspension. Some people would say that's lacking refinement, but I like to be able to feel everything that's going on. Newer cars just don't feel as direct as they use to.

I totally agree about cars not feeling as direct as they used to

I don't have a favorite car. I've loved several of my cars for various reasons. I loved the '89 Chevy Beretta for being a good personal car that was pretty reliable for the time. I loved my two '03 Toyota Matrixes because they were so damned useful. They held a LOT of cargo. I moved a dining room table and six chairs in one of them. I loved my '13 VW Passat because it was such a competent and spacious sedan. I love my '24 VW GLI because it's fast and handles well - it's fun.

It is hard to pick one, for sure. It sounds like you made very well thought out choices for your cars and as a result enjoyed them. Out of your whole list, I'd have to pick the Beretta. It's one of my bucket list cars.

Wow, 125 cars! That's very high! Can you please write down your 5 favourites? I am curious. I also have a bluetec benz, r350, I love it! 304000 km on it.

I stopped watching when he said he has owned 120 cars and he is a car guy. I am a 52 year old lifetime car enthusiast, professional mechanic and detailing hobbyist. I would struggle to come up with 120 cars I would even want to own. I have 3 vehicles right now and I am quite content with each of them as each has a different purpose. I have owned one of them since it was new in 2003, the other 2 I bought used. One of those I have had for 9 years and my newest car (SUV), I only bought 6 months ago. Obviously, I keep cars for the long haul and maintaining them meticulously is a passion of mine. One car I had way too little time with was a 1988 Nissan Sentra station wagon 4X4 with a 5-speed manual transmission. I bought it when it was about 10 years old and used it as a beater car to drive to work and haul my mountain bike. I used to say that when my buddy and I had our high end mountain bikes on the roof racks, they were worth more than the car was. The car blew a head gasket and my dad convinced me to walk away from it.

120 cars in your lifetime? I’m guessing you might be the guy who can’t keep the channel on your TV on for more than 15 seconds too??

And that bothers you Why?

@ So long as your family are being provided for, it really doesn’t matter if you buy a new car every week of the year. It is a free country, after all. I knew a guy I worked with who bought a new fully loaded truck every six months or so. He would spend 65K or better, trade it in, take a big hit and onto the next brand new truck. He rented a home, didn’t put a dime an away in the company’s 401k match. But he earned an upper middle class salary. This guy will die destitute because of his terrible financial priorities.

@@EmilyTienne Yes a lot of people I know have zero to show for a lifetime of work. It's sad.
