I'm a Bucks fan so I'm ultimately biased but I'm honestly hopeful. Like you said, Dame hasn't been efficient all year and has been dealing with personal problem (divorce + custody battle for his kids) and they're still like 13-0 when he shoots above 50 FG%. And plus Giannis playing more minutes will help ready him for playoff action, as on previous years he would sometimes be tired in the playoffs due to not being accustomed. They're also for sure trying to make moves at the deadline to help the defense. But like compared to the Celtics, it feels like the Celtics are in 5th gear. LIke they can't get realistically any better, while the Bucks are figuring it out and are demolishing the league offensively. Like the Celtics have already reached most of their potential and the Bucks can still take it up many notches. And just like you said with the 120 defensive points you can say about the offense. They've gotten 7 games with over 140 points in the last 3 YEARS. This season, they've already gotten 5. Also the clutch numbers for the Bucks are insane. 21 games and are 16-5 with 120 OFF RTG and 99 DEF. That's a 21.4 net rating which is 4th in the NBA, that bodes well for the playoffs.

So many years now it’s apparent to me that some teams are built for regular season success, but not postseason success. Organizations need to ask themselves what are we built for? Predicting Lakers being the no 1 seed was crazy before the season and just as crazy now. There were so many red flags with this team everyone ignored just because they're the Lakers. Same talent, but on a small market team and nobody would ever pick them to be a top seed. They'd be a 5-6 seed max. People watch Lakers so much because of LeBron (i.e. "you can never count an LBJ team out) that they lose all grip on the factors that make a good team and the careers of the players on the team. LeBron is 38; AD is great one day, inconsistent and sheepish the next; Reeves is fine but didn't have enough GP for anyone to know if he's good or not; Taurean Prince is one of the most mid players in the league; Gabe Vincent has had one year of success before this year and was overvalued because of a plainly absurd outlier performance for Miami in the playoffs; Vanderbilt has never been able to play offense; Hachimura is unproven as a consistent rotation player; D-Lo only plays offense and has sucked for years pretty consistently. Rationally thinking with no Lakers fandom involved, they sucked on paper before the start of the season and they still suck now. They have a whole stable full of players who don't have enough minutes played to tell if they're good or just okay; all these players are also wildly inconsistent from night to night.

Christian Wood, Cam Reddish and Gabe Vincent never even looked close to the answer to me. Like the needle didn't wasn't moving anywhere and they'd look exactly like they'd looked when they had THT, Westbrook and Melo etc. Gabe was nice on a team that actually had Championship potential, but that's it. If I'm L.A, I'm trading AD for a star PG and a solid Center because he's actually been consistently good this year and healthier than usual so his value is up. They can't just expect Lebron to carry role players for the umpteenth time in his career but here we are again.
@MusicLover-my6fo Жыл бұрын
As a Lakers fan, I feel a little conflicted about this season so far. I've accepted that they're not winning the championship, however, I still wouldn't like to end the season at the 11th seed again. Part of me feels like Darvin Ham is the problem with the rotations and benching certain players for too long since the in-season tournament, and another part of me feels like some role players just aren't stepping up. When the trade deadline comes, I would really like to see D'lo traded for Jordan Clarkson since the Jazz have been open to trading him since last November and I think Clarkson would help spread the floor for LeBron in close outs. If they trade some other role players, they might get a pick back.
@almightyyeezydab5149 Жыл бұрын
Rob Pelinka is doing everything wrong. Him scoffing at trading for another star and the idea of “trade for depth and key role players” isn’t working. Those role players aren’t going to produce when it’s needed most, they need a player outside of LeBron and AD that can create his own offense

He would re-sign them all back and most people believe that the Lakers had a great off-season. In what world is he "doing everything wrong"? Trading for a 3rd star isn't going to fix the team, they need depth because you can't rely on LeBron and AD to stay healthy for the full season, this team needs another playmaker because of that, this team needs better perimeter defense, and shooting as well. It's basically a roster issue with to many players decent on one end of the floor while being a liability on the other end.

Darvin Ham is the biggest issue with the team. He don’t run plays he doesn’t put players in the best positions to succeed. He can’t call timeouts when other teams go on 20 point runs but only calls time when the lakers go on a run. Literally last game he had 3 timeouts with a minute in the 4th quarter that’s criminal. The lakers do need to make a trade get gabe Hayes max dlo or Austin off the team but if they team don’t want to play for the coach then what’s the reason for keeping him hired. He has to have dirt on rob and Jeanie cause he can’t coach a bird to fly, a baby to cry or a rock to sit still. Drummond Caruso and Murray would be a dream. Dlo murray Vando Bron AD and off the bench Caruso Cam Rui Wood Drummond would be a championship roster.

Luka kind of still needs to improve. He’s hit a limbo and probably staled his career with average defence
@imdbtruth Жыл бұрын
@ssj4goku18825theepic You're tripping... Average defense is good enough when you're doing as much as Luka does offensively. There's always room for improvement, but Luka's easily a top-5 player already, and arguably number one.

LeBron's always the victim. Why doesn't he take a paycut and that helps another star in. No. If his goal is to win a chip play with minimum vet salary. I gonna take my 40 and that's basically a trade for all the kcp kuzma and the depth. This happens. Then he's at slutcity. What do u expect. So many distractions. Should have played somewhere were he could only focus on rings. So he won't be winning another one.

I never had faith in the lakers starting the season off strong, they moved a lot of pieces around during the off season with an unestablished core that got swept in the WCF, they’re hopefully gonna make some trade to at least make it into the play in where they’ll get exposed again. AD hasn’t put that crown on his head to be the leader that they need, lebron looking as passive as ever but given his age I’ll give him that they shouldn’t be having that man as a first option, generational talent or not dude’s gonna be getting blown by younger guys or is gonna break down physically just trying to keep up.

The Curry, KD, Lebron era is ending I could include Kawhi too. Only 3 of this superstar got 2fmvp and 3 players change the game. 1. Lebron made the game all about money bag, be friends with opponents and superteam. 2. Kawhi mad load management legit. 3. Curry and Klay made the game a 3pt contest. 4. KD just jump teams whocares.

By next year it’ll probably be pretty much over. Steph is on thin ice as a superstar, bron aint been a superstar since 2020, and KD while still playing very solid and efficient this season his age will probably start to show by next season. Never thought id say this but out of the trio Kd is probably the best rn

Lakers always seem desperate overall to get a new guy on there team the only way to fix this is they have to trade away Austin Reaves and DeAngelo Russell to get some additional shooting on the team if not they basically will go home earlier in the playoffs compared to last year.🏀

They get hell every trade deadline. Then play about 35-40 games together before they trade all those guys for new talent in the off season. Then that team plays 35-40 games before doing the process over again at the deadline while wondering why there is no team chemistry. Who wants to play half a season for the Lakers just to be AD and Brons scapegoat if the team doesn't win

Flip the team at the deadline. Then the new guys get 35-40 games with zero chemistry. Then they're shipped out in the off season for new guys. Those guys then play 35-40 games before being traded at the deadline. No chemistry ever develops and the Lakers get nowhere. Yeah they lucked into the WCF but got stomped and swept. Miami was also an underdog and got all the way to the Finals.
