How far can you REALLY travel on the LiveWire S2 Del Mar??

In my last video, I claimed a 200 mile day was possible on the LiveWire S2 Del Mar, which only has a 10.5kW battery and level 2 charging. In this video, I'm discovering whether I was right or wrong in making that claim. As usual, things do not go according to plan!

I love these vlogs with the electric bikes. They give us all a chance to see what they're like to live with. Looks like a blast to me!

Wonderful roads. I absolutely agree that stopping to charge is not a problem . I stop all the time when I'm taking long rides. I've ridden a few livewire 1st Gen. Great video.

Right on! It's only a problem for people that will never ride an electric

As long as there are nice places to stop and charge with good views or things to do that don't cost loads of money and the cost of charging is cheaper than gas I think it's brilliant if you are just going out to have fun which is what most riders should be doing anyway, if you want a bike to commute on just get one that does the distance you need on one charge. If you want to rack up tons of miles just for bragging rights you need to take a good look at yourself and why you are riding imho. I'm not yet back on a motorcycle but looking at doing that here in the uk the roads are busy as hell and full of pot holes and roadworks so a bit off putting. I DO ride a electric mountain bike and go out for half days mostly covering about 20 to 30 miles taking in nice scenery off road, take my time and enjoy the ride and talking to people etc etc, occationally a full day out with a picnic lunch I'll cover 40 to 50 miles maybe going further afield, braggin about the distance is cool as it's the easy thing to say to imporess people quickly lol, but the real fun is just the experience of the ride and the scenery etc etc. I thought about getting a big motorbike for touring but I'm now leaning towards just an electric that I can explore the local area more with the possibilty of touring but with more stops for charging....

Great vid, good to see you out there getting those miles. That place looked amazing. I rode a few times, but my visor was just too foggy, ordered a pinlock, hopefully it shows up today along with the plug adapters you recommended and a Battery monitor II unit. Figured i would put it on the bike so i can monitor the 12v from my phone. Hopefully soon i can find some amazing little places here in Kentucky, like the one you found in this video.. keep up the great work. Looking forward to every new video you do. Stay Safe.

Nice! Pinlocks are a must during winter seasons - one came with my Shoei X2 and works quite well. Kentucky should boast lots of great roads - I lived just outside Fort Campbell for many years in the past, albeit on the TN side.

My first ICE bike had no gas gauge. Never knew when I’d run out. Just flip to reserve and know you have 30 miles to go. Still ran out once.

People often ignore the benefit of waiting and resting on your attention, which is primary importance when operating a vehicle. For example, people often say that electric trucks (as real trucks, not the pickup jokes) cannot work because of the recharge time. Ignoring that they are required by law to have frequent mandatory rest, people who work in logistic don't work 24 hours a day. It's all for safety reason. I did a lot of very long trips, including extensive ones like 1000 km in 10 hours, but it's very uncommon (and most of those who make those claims never did something like this, it's just an hypothetical). It's not safe, in fact it's pretty exhaustive.

I'd rather chew glass than do an Iron Butt or any kind of long distance sustained travel like that. I can go about 100 miles before my mind starts to wonder while riding (maybe ADHD?) and I'm not entirely focusing on everything on the road. The breaks are good for me.

Beautiful scenery. Perhaps bring along a short deck fishing rod, to wet a line while waiting to charge. Relaxing!

Good point about enjoying the charge time. The confederate breastworks on 250 are a great stop for a stretch. How much more range do you think you could get on that route in the warmer days? Thanks for another great vlog.
@AdventuresonZero
@AdventuresonZero 5 ай бұрын
Yep, it's a nice little perch above the Shenandoah. Hard to say what range will be, this is why LiveWire needs to add consumption reading - hard to gauge how things are affecting range

Those are great roads. Pocahontas County, and Tucker County are full of great roads dirt and tarmac. It's nice to see you highlighting that area. What creek were you riding ?
@AdventuresonZero
@AdventuresonZero 5 ай бұрын
Yes they are! Cowpasture river was the main one, a few little creeks here and there that I can't remember the name of - Lick Run is the only one I can recall.
