I don't know why everyone is complaining about the lack of noise in Teslas. I find it so much cooler flying by other cars and barely making a sound. Especially when other cars are loud as heck and are barely accelerating. Also attract less cops xD

With current battery chemistry they will likely stop at 100 kWh. With the next generation they have the option of keeping the same energy storage capacity and half the weight of the pack or double the horsepower. A 800 to 900 kW sedan with 200 kWh does sound intriguing. I'm assuming though that the batteries will have double the energy density. Maybe they won't go as high or maybe it will be even higher. It's still many years out, probably after 2020.

I happened to hear that song a few days ago on my parents' TV because my dad was watching some live performance. I don't know the name of it or who did it, but it's that "I'm getting older" country song. There's a version of it that has been around for several years or more that is in a higher key, so I'm not sure if this is a cover from a different country singer or if the same country singer is singing it in a lower key because she's, well, getting older. She certainly sounded older (and more smoked out) in this lower key.

Tesla is not aerodynamic, it gets pushed back when it gets to 100+ miles
@lazarus26918 жыл бұрын
Excuse me? The model S is not aerodynamic? Its drag coefficient stomps all over the Mclaren (.24 vs .34) Drag isn't the limiting factor at high speed, power output is. Electric motors loose power as rpm increases and the model S is a single speed, so it's rpm at higher speeds is very high. Furthurmore, the battery system on the model S can only run at full drain for around 3.5 seconds (this might be a bit more on the newest model)

Elec. cars suck, but the acceleration is crazy always :)
@Lndmk2278 жыл бұрын
Someone's obviously never driven a Tesla. Electric cars -- good ones, anyway, and particularly Teslas -- are the opposite of suck. Low batteries equal low center of gravity and superior handling, beautiful styling makes me liken it unto a high-end luxury car, and instant torque, even on the slower models, equals acceleration like you wouldn't believe. If they could drop the weight and the price into more attainable ranges there'd literally be no reason to ever buy an ICE car ever again. If I made six digits a year, this would be the car I'd buy. I drove a P90D just once for fifteen minutes, and it was by a country mile the best car I'd ever driven. So I'm not entirely clear on where you're coming from when you say "electric cars suck." What are you basing this on?
