This ia mad, didn't even know Rapha had this ride! Haven't done a ride like this is ages since training for a triathlon but it iused to a be a weekly staple through the eastern suburbs punchy hills. Gret vid. On the front next time haha
@joshkwan5 ай бұрын
I know right! Some serious hittas in this group. Triathalon training is a lot different to these kind of chop rides, I don’t know how you fit in three sports, especially during winter 🥶 Stretch goal 1, don’t get dropped. Stretch goal 2….on the front? Haha

This looks well fun. Curious, how many watts were you averaging to ride the flats at 50kph? Thanks
@joshkwan2 ай бұрын
To be honest I was hiding quite nicely in the draft, maybe 200-300 watts. The accelerations and surges are the hard things to keep up with.

Damn, looks so fun! How are you in bib shorts?! I don’t know about Melbourne, but in Perth it was 6 degrees today and I had 4 layers on (base, SS, LS, and gilet) 😂 Come over to Perth, we have the River Loop ride and there’s a few groups who do a smashfest ride for it (STG is one of them and they’re fasttt).
@joshkwan5 ай бұрын
The duality of riding chop rides. Dress for the ride or for the cafe? Hahaha I warm up very quickly when I’m riding hard so bib shorts feel great. At the park up…not so much 😅 This morning was 7 degrees 😵💫

Has rapha fixed their huge stuff up with bibs? Rapha rides is usually a red flag for poor skill and bunch etiquette. Best avoided.
@joshkwan5 ай бұрын
Can’t really comment on the bibs since I don’t wear Rapha. I would say Rapha rides actually have quite good bunch etiquette. The newer groups obviously not as much, but the whole point there is to teach people.
@DoneAndDustedCycling5 ай бұрын
Having ridden with Rapha a few years ago, and also recently. I can vouch for the work they're doing and the ride leaders they've got running the rides. One of the better groups in sydney now IMO
