I don’t know whether you ever thought about getting rid of your dreads but a video about this topic would be nice. Not specifically your dreads but maybe some tips on how to know when it’s time to part from them? Like, I love my dreadlocks. But I’m kind of getting sick of them at the moment and I was wondering whether other dread heads also go through phases like the one I’m currently in. I’ve brushed one out really carefully (it was annoying me) and my hair is super long and healthy so of course I’m craving long flowy hair. But is this just a phase? Will it go away? Do other dreadheads go through this? Have a nice day, everybody. P.S.: never assumed you were high.

I normally have thick wavy(not curly) hair, my dreadlocks are currently 2 months old and I did the twist and rip method alone. I have noticed some are coming along very well and starting to look better as some are just coming unknotted and falling out. What can I do to prevent them from unknotting? The sections that are coming undone are starting to bunch up with other dreads and my goal for this set of dreads is to have thin ones the size of yarn strans. :(

Autumn Rocca keep touching them up and keep them clean, clean hair knots up better, ive got silky straight/wavy hair and ive had trouble with mine too, every day i either palm roll or twist and rip the end, i have a bunch of loose hairs but a few of mine have start3d to lock up, some are looser, im about 2 months in, so yeah, from my experience just do upkeep and keep them clean

Gibbypastrami thank you💙 I try to keep them clean by washing with a residue free shampoo 3-4 times a week because I work in fast food so I'm in a very greasy environment, maybe I should wash more often due to the amount of grease that I get on my skin and clothe? I'll try and palm rolling them more often also, thank you.

They definitely aren't coming undone just keep them clean and seperate and they will turn out amazing,some people do maintenance for that neat look but u don't have to they will come together and lock up it just takes time,patience is key to beautiful dreads,they will naturally stay together just make sure to separate when u wash..

In my experience, it's all based on how people see the way I look. You could have some random dude smoking a joint and people will automatically assume that it's me because they see my locks LOL and just like you my man I am 100% sober but it always makes me laugh that people are quicker to judge by looks over anything else 🤣 keep up the good work and stay weird!! I live in Ga, got dreads down to my ass, I do smoke pot, but funny thing happened the other day, was at the store with my sweet little wife(also has dreads)(also smokes), and two small children, when behind me I hear a voice say “ppl who have hair like that REALLY love weed!” Now I do love weed let’s not get irrational here but it offended me! Daniel the Nazirite Mine (neglect/ free-form) are two years old & they are cylindrical for the most part but definitely not uniform in any way. You'll have flat ones, or ones that sort out the loops/bumps by just appearing curly.
