Being an entrepreneur is extremely mentally taxing, but the biggest key to your success is having a sharp mind. That's why today, I want to walk through the exact steps that I use to make sure I have a solid foundation for my Mental Health. My hope is that through sharing my story, I can make you feel less lonely in your journey and feel better equipped to face life's challenges.
The thing is, most mental health guides these days all have one glaring issue... They don't address the root causes of your problems. Instead, they provide open ended solutions that may or may not actually help you. That's why in this video, I decided to not only talk through the exact root causes of anxiety, stress, and depression, but also break down the tools that I use every single day to navigate through these feelings.
You got this :)

The root cause of stress, anxiety, and depression for many people is their fixation on outcomes. Worries about rejection, failure, and loss, etc., all focus on the end result, which is really beyond anyone's control. Constantly focusing on the outcome can sap the joy out of any worthwhile endeavor. Living in the present, doing your best, and ceasing to worry about the future can alleviate much of this angst.

This is one of the most human videos on the subject that I've seen in a very long time. Resonates deeply and has a sincerity that can't be faked. Thank you very much for putting this out there, and I hope there are more to come!

This is extremely important to hear as an Entrepreneur! I definitely struggled with putting myself out there! Once you get yourself out there, it slowly becomes easier, however that first push is the hardest. Failure is such a good way to learn. Amazing advice, loving the videos John! Never not a hit! :)

Thanks for being so transparent about this! I started posting content on KZbin this year and it's been a real battle juggling an intense job in management consulting, personal relationships, and my own mental/physical health! After posting 1-2 videos every week for 4 months straight I was on the verge of burnout and have since been trying to re-evaluate how I can make this more sustainable while still progressing towards my goals. I can't imagine how much more stressful it must be to be running a startup full-time and creating content on the side. All this is to say, thanks for posting this John, we appreciate your honesty and the effort you put into this 🙏

I'm really impressed by your honesty about what you have been through. As someone who has experienced similar challenges with mental health I know how hard it can be to open up and truly be honest about what you have been through. Thank you for sharing these strategies with us!

I've had my business attacked twice and it sucked. Both times were from competitors doing shady things. The anger and frustration was intense and the fear that it would impact orders...but anger and fear go hand in hand. I recovered quickly but what helped was learning to let go of fears and expectations, otherwise the stress would have made me super bitter towards people. Books like "30 Days to Reduce Stress" by Harper Daniels and the Tao Te Ching were nice reads during that time, just to escape the stress and anxiety of it all.
