Hey Marcus a few years ago I broke my finger during P.E - same finger, other hand. As a piano player myself I was really concerned that I might never play the piano again the way I was playing it. Honestly I'm very glad that you're doing okay. I can say from my experience with my severe allergies that things will get better. I still remember my first Allergic Reaction, I was 15 and I was on a school trip at the movies to watch Polar Express. I got lucky with how slow mine was progressing and that my Grandmother was a RN. Still doesn't make it less frightening when you're young and new to that kind of world. Definitely, absolutely definitely get Allergy tested. I'm Honestly glad you shared you're story and that you had wonderful support. Don't give up even when times are hard and seem difficult to get through. Also, keep up with the wonderful things that you do for people!

And yes, I got a little bit peckish at midnight what can I say. This happened in the middle of the night however. and I had woken up at 2am with welts all over my front and back and mucus clogging up my throat. As a person who has nearly died 4 times now because of anaphylaxis it is a MUST that you carry an Epipen with you around at all times, if you haven't grown up with it I can imagine how scary and harder it will be adjusting but as long as your friends and yourself are trained in how to use your Epipen and your very careful of what you eat you will be fine, sending lots of love !!

Physical therapy as directed, but brother, please don't push it. LET it HEAL. You'll get the soft tissue range of motion back. I'm so glad you are okay... so thankful you listened to your girlfriend (sounds like she's a keeper)... and so glad you got help in time. This is going to sound weird, but I'm so happy to hear you didn't act stubbornly about the situation. I have a story about what I mean. My Aunt was always stubborn. She didn't want to be a bother, she didn't want to interfere in plans, and she felt she could handle anything herself. In February, she died. In the 2 weeks before she passed, she had not one, but two heart attacks. No one had any idea about the first heart attack. She didn't tell anyone she was experiencing any medical issues. The doctor who saw her after the second heart attack made it clear to my family, that if he had been treating the first heart attack, she might still be here today. The Moral of the story is this: Your Health is not a game. If you feel like something is wrong, it probably is. Take it seriously, and don't be stubborn and treat it like it's not a big deal. Because it might be the thing that takes you out of this world after everything is said and done. I'm not here for sympathy or to take away from Marcus, but to show what an example he (And his girlfriend) are.

Aside from almost dying and all, most don’t realize the fear musicians have of damaging parts of their body needed to play their respective instruments. I am a drummer. I have broken the same elbow twice, and each time I realized just how awful it could be to have an integral part of your life be so difficult. (Difficult after about a month. For a month it was almost impossible to play at all without a heavy Percocet dosage and the will to fucking play with a broken elbow) I rely on that as a source of income, therapy and much more. If I ever broke (or esspecially more permanently damaged) a wrist, arm, foot, ankle or finger, that part of my life could become difficult, if not impossible for a long time, possibly forever. You will be back to playing in full capacity again Marcus.

I crochet, knit, macrame, tunisian crochet, sew etc etc .. my hands mean everything to me. I broke my pinky a couple weeks ago and refuse to let that stop me lol but it is scary, especially getting older you have no idea if/where you will get arthritis. I never thought about musicians dealing with the same but I definitely get it.

6:20 that's how i feel ATM my dad passed on the 2nd and I'm 15 we also lost our house last winter and my mom is homeless so i just live with my grandma and uncle and I've had to take care of my dad almost my whole life since i was like 7 cause so much was wrong with him and it was just me and him, 2 winters ago he got double pneumonia and it sucked i didn't know what could happen to him but he made it out and now I feel like I'm alone I've gotten a job and now I'm just trying to make it threw life. I can't related to the severity of what has recently happened to you, but I have had a pretty bad year in terms of health related things. I've been drumming for almost 10 years and i've had to stop because of Wrist injuries. You made such a good point about being grateful and that bad things always happen. 2020 has been rough and i've lost loved ones, lost a job, and much more shit, but over everything I'm so grateful to be alive and have a shelter over my head. Hey, i just want you to know that you're not alone. I am a pianist too who have been injured in my right hand for almost three months now, making me only be able to play with my left hand. I am also really down right now, but this difficult situation has made me A LOT more motivated to playing piano with both hands again when the injury is gone. I can personally relate to your allergies. I have almost died from eating a cashew. I was hospitalized for 3 days and almost died. I was 14 when this happened and I was scared, but after it all you just have to be careful. Hope your feeling better much love ❤️
