Thank you for showing me how to anchor the tent down by putting the flaps inside and staking them down.

I buried the bottom edges in a trench which has worked really well for years.

That's a great option too! Since I'll be taking the cover down in May & putting it back up in October/November (to hopefully extend its life) I decided against anything too permanent... Or it would be a pain to take down 🤣 Thank you for dropping in Frances, I hope spring has been treating you well so far!

I just ordered one of these. Curious how yours is holding up? Also wondering, do you have to take the plastic down during summer months or would opening it up be enough. Thanks.

I've been thinking of getting something similar for my aquaponics system over the winter.

I took and made an edging around the exterior, then inside I laid in 4 corners cinder blocks. I then took bungee cords and secured the unit down to the cinders. no issues with flying greenhouses since.

It's a lot of work keeping these things down! So far it's held very well here, too! I heard of too many taking flight and being irreparable; I didn't want to go that route. In just 6 weeks, mine will be taken down for the summer. It's always good to see comments like yours, with great ideas for other viewers who are trying to secure theirs down, too. Thank you for dropping in, Anonomous Elephant! 😊

I enjoyed seeing your videos on the Polytunnel. I am considering buying one of these in the next month and wanted to check in with you to see if you have any regrets with your purchase? Have you had any problems so far? Thanks for sharing the videos and I hope you are having a great fall. Looking forward to your reply. Thanks and take care.

I apologize, I've been quiet over this way ❤️ KZbin had to fall to the back burner for a bit and I haven't checked in 😔 But I read your comment today and can't recommend this model 🥲 After months of holding up well, the tunnel caved in. The cover held up, all anchors and supports held up, and it stayed in place; however, the metal frame is ultimately rather weak. The frame actually snapped and bent in multiple spots. I believe this happened in August- and it wasn't our worst storm, it was actually mild! This could have been a wonderful structure, if the metal frame was built of rigid steel. All in all, the frame proved to be weak and collapsed beneath the wind. I did NOT expect the frame to be what failed; and truthfully, that's the worst case scenario. It also didn't hold heat in during the night making it a miss with my tomato and pepper seedlings (even with attempted heat sinks) and day time temperatures soared wildly. If I attempt a greenhouse/tunnel again, I think I'm going to opt for cold frames and low tunnels; heat sinks would be more effective with those, and they'll cost far less to build with less risk. Sorry for the lengthy reply, but I hope this helps answer any questions you may have about my experience with this tunnel 😊 I hope you've had an incredible season this year, and that you and yours are doing well! Happy Holidays! 🎁🎄

@@TheAberrantGardener Thanks for the reply, no worries about the length, always glad to get the full scoop. Sorry to hear it failed. I haven't purchased yet and pretty much decided on making a greenhouse using cattle panels. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, take care.

I hopped over from the comment you left on our video and subbed your channel :) Thank you! Interested in how this greenhouse works out for you. This is our first year using this.

It's my first year too! It's currently standing empty 😂 All of my plants are on my porch, because I had to haul them in for cold snaps. I'm likely just going to take it down as soon as I get a moment to do so, because there is a forest of weeds in there that my goats would love to mow down 😂 Fingers crossed one of my ideas for heating it will work this fall, and help it to serve as a greenhouse for winter greens through the cold weather 🤞😊

You might want to check out gardening with Leon. He probably forgot more about gardening than we'll ever know. He apparently lives in an area in Oklahoma that is subject to HIGH winds. He not only is a gardener, but he sells and constructs high tunnels and green house. Find his you tube about the difference between High Tunnels and Green House. He talks about securing the plastic on his high tunnels and green houses in the high winds he encounters. Lots of luck...
