Theres a lake i like to fish, full of perch but I’m interested in targeting the bigger ones. I usually use a drop shot double rig with crawlers and it works great but ya get a lotta shorties. I’m gonna try this. Use a bobber to jump a jig off the bottom

@@bassmoore2083 we have some really nice trout streams as well. But the Mississippi river produces some big fish. The perch run is over now but the crappies and catfish are spawning now followed by the bluegills.

Thank you ! This is an Old Town Predator PDL Kayak. I really liked it, but eventually went back to a Hobie Pro angler.. I liked the space next to my legs, which the PDL did not provide.. the PDL is much faster tho, and the instant reverse is pretty cool

I love fishing for perch. I do sc h in Pennsylvania. I have caught them up to 16" but that's rare. Most of the time I consider 12" to be a good size for harvesting . My favorite bait is a half a night crawler. Hooked similar to your jig though I do not use a jig much for them I have a few videos on them if you want to check me out up to you I am new to KZbin so. I only started this past year. May be you could give me a few pointers. Any way loved the video thanks for sharing

SC PA too,if they're not 12+ I throw'em back. I use a jig with a lil pink, white,or yellow rubber or hair tipped with 1/4-1/2" nightcrawler.

I fish Lake Erie in Western basin & sometimes Detroit river for yellow perch. I have had a double of 13 1/2 & 14 1/2 inches on the same time on Detroit River in 6 foot of water. I usually throw back unless they are at least 8 inches. Depending on how big they are running sometimes do not keep anything under 9 inches. On occasion you can only keep 10 inches & better. 50 per person is the limit which on Erie can be a very easy limit. Had 4 man limit in under 1 1/2 hours before (yes 200 9 plus inch perch). But if you want to see where the real monster perch are in the USA check out cascadia lake in Idaho. Just monsters.

Nice pickerel but you should keep him there eating delicious fish like perch bass and whatnot in lakes its better to throw the delicious ones away to conserve the school of fish then eat the fish eating other fish our lakes are infested with chain pickerel thanks to a douchebag in texas now our salmon bass and recently our atlantic white fish are at risk because of there eating habits and being a invasive species in canada
