Love this. Everyone talks about dehydrated skin but NONE of them have skin like mine. I wear no powder over my makeup and no matter how hydrating my makeup may be my skin drinks up every bit of moisture it provides. It is a real struggle for me to find makeup that I can wear longer than 3-4 hours without looking like the Sahara desert

@@hersheykisseys what? its just the skin. I have this too (if this is the same thing as me), its atopic dermatitis and there's no cure or reason for it basically it sometimes comes and goes, sometimes its worse than some other times. At the moment my face has red patches all over it and my whole body is spotted because Ive been scratching too much, but its so intense I cant often even stop. And yes Ive been to a doctor but all she could do was give me lotions :(

I cut off dairy and eggs, and it helped so much with eczema. I use to use organic coconut oil on the areas that flared up. Never touch an ointment from the doctor. I haven’t had a flared up in years :) ive has little itchy spots if I eat produce w dairy which I rarely do because I want to eat less animal products
@bash90324 жыл бұрын
@@michellea549 Thank you for the reply -- it has reminded me of a time when I, too, ate healthier. Glad to hear you have had success!! I really think my dietary trigger may be wheat and processed foods. I know what I must do but I will surely have trouble doing it. I rarely eat eggs and don't consume much dairy at all -- about 2 tbs of heavy cream in my coffee. In retrospect I cannot recall having as many breakouts years ago when I was on a "clean" low carb/low sugar diet. I have been eating more processed carbs over the last few years, though I do try to eat moderately healthy and I don't consume excess sugar... though pasta and wheat/corn tortillas are still dietary staples for me. And yeah, my eczema has been pretty relentless. Not LARGE patches, but the patches I do get last for months and months. I have had a patch on my eyelid coming and going for almost a year now.

As a makeup artist, I’m learning more and more about different products and skin types. This is extremely helpful especially the fact that you use your finger and not brushes to apply your makeup. I used brushes on my sister, and she started to flare up like a balloon. Not once did I think that maybe it was the brushes that could’ve caused her eczema to flare up. Thank you. I’ll have her try out your techniques :)

As a chronic, severe eczema sufferer I absolutely love Avene products too. A few months ago I was battling extremely inflamed and dry eyelids. I had been using supposedly “hypoallergenic” and natural makeup removers, but it was only until I switched to the Avene micellar water that the inflammation started going down. I will now be trying the Skin Recovery Cream and tinted cream as well!

thank you for the video gorgeous! I've been getting contact dermatitis around my eyelids ever since getting eyelash extensions and now it seems to flare up every now and again even without - when the skin is really irritated and scaley i've been using aquaphor and it works soooo well to sooth the skin, reduce itchiness and take away the crepey look. It also claims to regenerate the skins healing process xxx

@@christinefrank5062hey, how did you go about patch testing?
@christinefrank50624 жыл бұрын
amy mcdonnell , my dermatologists referred me to an allergy doctor. After doing the patch test, the allergy doctor thought it would be in my best interest to do further allergy test. The dermatologist has a system where she placed the 6 ingredients that I’m allergic to and put together a list of products I can use which helped a lot. It’s a little over whelming at first. It was well worth getting the patch test.

I have super sensitive skin and have developed atopic dermatitis from time to time when I change facial products or makeup. I recently had a horrible, I mean HORRIBLE, reaction to a chemical sunscreen. Going forward I'll only use mineral SPF containing zinc, no parabens or fragrances. What works for me is a combination of manuka honey (pharmaceutical grade/active) & organic castor oil. I wear the combination to bed overnight. During the day I use Tatcha Dewy Skin cream. That gets me through the days I need to be able to wear makeup for work. The combo for me works to resolve the dry, painful burning & peeling skin in about a week. I'm going to try to find that thermal spring water in the states. Fortunately, my bf lives in Tarneit so worst case I'll have him ship me a few cans.

What about when you have literal dry patches on your face? I’ve just stopped wearing makeup as everything seems to make it look/feel worse. I’m 33… my skin isn’t getting any younger and I’m getting really frustrated. I like a natural look but I spent the last 10-15 years using bare minerals foundation 90% of the time. I’ve not tried creams. Back in the day, creams weren’t great. I’m used to using a soft brush, not a sponge. Again, just wondering if this could help when you have dry, red patches on your face.
