It’s so weird, I love watching videos like these but I can’t get nails myself because the sound and sight of grinding on my nails makes me want to pass out lol. So this is kind of an opportunity for me to love vicariously through you! Thank you!

I agree the drill sets my teeth on edge! I just started doing my own gel nails. I have to say using a drill isn't necessary. It's not like acrylic. She's doing lots of nail aer too. If you stick to just simply using a base/gel color/top coat you can skip the electric drill. You will need to lightly file when prepping your natural nail. Avoid glitter polish too. The only time other time I I need to lightly file is taking off the topcoat to soak off every few weeks with a hand file. You wouldn't even need to do that if you're super patient when removing old polish. Hopefully you might consider trying.

I just found your channel and I love it! I do builder gel nails myself and I've been looking for more channels who do them and they are few and far between! Keep on doing what you're doing! 💗

Yes! Bc EVERYONE seems to do a lot of polygel and that's fine but not everyone prefers it. Katie's designs turn out nice. I love this one❤

Opal is one of my son's birthstone (October has 2 birthstones for some reason) so I'd definitely wear these as they look a lot like my ring I have with his birthstone. Great job!

I love the opal effect- very pretty. Not sure about the border myself - but it is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your nail art. I’m only just getting into doing my own so I’m very grateful for your tips and advice.

"sometimes things don't work out"...sigh...how true! I am new to this, I just do my own nails. This just happened to me yesterday. I am a person that is not much on polygel - I've done an overlay over half-cover tips and that turned out okay but the poly gel was cheaper and didn't cure well. I'm more partial to builder gel and solid gel. I started to do the lazy girl method and quickly abandoned - thinking back the layer I put on may have been too thick. Anyways I just decided to do a regular full-cover tip put on with solid builder gel. I think you may have me sold on that Trinity gel - esp since it's a top coat too?!? Yes, please!😮😊

Hello. Yes I know how to correct the curve of my nails, however when I’m doing my own nails I don’t like to spend a lot of time doing them so I keep it pretty quick and simple. Also these nails were pretty short so it doesn’t bother me enough to worry about it.

Sorry I'm new to this channel.. this is the only video I have seen so far.. but I got a question.. how come you don't level out your nails so they don't curve down? Or do you like them curved down like that? I'm just curious bc normally people hate when there nails curve down and do everything possible to make it not happen lol so I'm just wondering what your thoughts on it is.. beautiful design though hun thanks for sharing 😊😊
@NailsByKatieDutra4 жыл бұрын
I filed them up from underneath to straighten them out, plus they were short so there isn’t that much length to work with anyway. If I’m doing long nails on myself I will sculpt a new set straight out. Also when I’m doing my own nails I don’t like to spend hours and hours doing them so I try to keep it simple. These nails were short so they really don’t curve down that much. My nails just naturally curve down as they grow out.

With that dust collector, would you be able to use, like maybe a paper towel instead of the filter? Just out of curiosity. Lovely nails and very informative ☺️
@NailsByKatieDutra4 жыл бұрын
Yes you could probably put a paper towel in the slots. I’m not sure if it would effect the air flow or not but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. ☺️
