In this video, I share how I detangle and stretch my 4C new growth using the tension method while being 6 months post relaxer. Being that I am hands on with my hair, this allows me to style and comb my hair at ease while I transition to natural hair. This video will be helpful to those stretch their relaxer or transitioning to natural hair.

Looks like you’ve mastered stretching, your washday looks a breeze at 6 months post. I love that you use two oils one for each texture and just tension dry the roots to protect your ends. Great videos, great tips thank you 👌🏾

The tension method, love it. Will be doing it on my next wash day along with using the castor oil and jojoba oil. It’s been 7 months since I had a relaxer. Not sure if I’m going to transition.

I thought the same thing about heat protectors when i read the ingredients a lot of those have alcohol and alcohol drys out the hair. A good moisturizer and oil will do fine against the heat

Great regimen. And you can do this forever even when 100% natural. Most people with long 4c natural hair use heat. I don't use heat and I've hit a length plateau.
@Tyiece
@Tyiece 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I love the blow out look. How long is your hair? I feel like my relaxed hair always hit a plateau at APL so I hope it grows longer without the chemicals

I have been stuck at about 15 inches since May of last year. I think it's because I have been wearing my hair exclusively in 2 strand twists. This protective style grew my hair beautifully for 4 years. I think it will only help me to maintain this length but that's it at this point. My theory is that my ends now that they are approaching 5 years old are in such a vulnerable state that I am breaking off my hair as I take out and put in the twists. It is time for me to do away with the twists and use heat, but I am resisting it like the plague.

for the few times i use direct heat on my hair i never use a heat protectant and i still retain length. Direct heat is still being applied to the hair so i dont know how the heat protectant functions. It is not like the heat protectant is blocking or reducing the heat setting on the flat iron.
@Tyiece

Right! Ive always wondered what it was actually doing lol. Jbco feels like it does a better job at retaining the softness

@Tyiece
@Tyiece 6 жыл бұрын
For tangles, it's all in the shampoo you use and how you handle the hair while washing it. Experiment with rich creamy moisturizing shampoos. When shampooing the hair, work in sections, use gentle circular motion on the scalp while holding the ends straight. The goal is to keep the hair in the direction it naturally falls while shampooing.

BabyWolfie, Take a deep breath girl you got this one. Every woman regardless of race has said the same thing 😭😭😭😭. Find a good, local black hair dresser and watch them work on your hair. Ask their advice on what products work on your hair. Check out utube on porosity. Finally, show your hair that you ain't playing😡😡😡 we got your back💯💯💯💯
