Another great video and tutorial Euge. What I love about that Drawmer comp is the difference that the AIR switch makes to the top end/crack of the snare in a mix.

I am considering moving from Sonar Producer to Cubase for Windows. I love Addictive Drums 2. I use the transform function and increase the randomness as well. I'm doing a Bonham cover at the moment. I came to your Cubase tutorial because Sonar crash several times in the past two weeks and I lost my project every time. I've been using Cakewalk products since it was introduce for the Atari 1040st. For me personally, I would pick a deeper snare with a little more spring😊 Your music is great and your mixing awesome!

One trick an engineer I worked with showed me the "10K trick" for creating a clickier sounding kik and all he did was add a very narrow Q to the 10k band and cranked it like 12~15db :) This was on a Neve VR console though, so not the same flexibility as a plugin but I appreciated the tip and stuck. Thanks for going through this I had just upgraded my AD1 to 2 a month ago and it's cool to see your approach.

life hack: run your drums through amp room. the api eq and comp are great for that, and you can still use the tape. i'm going to have to try some of these tricks. appreciate this.

When putting in hi hat...just use the drum draw in tool...set your 1/8th or 1/4 notes and swipe right....then you can adjust velocity....much faster
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Yes I know that but I like to do it this way so I don’t have to add velocity ’cos I’m playing with one 😊. But thanks for the tip anyway 👍😎.

Hey Euge, can you go through your Mac/audio setup in your next segment? I have a similar setup like yours, also what kind of Mice do you use? I find the Magic Track Pad/Mouse very limiting when it comes to editing midis in DAW. Thank you for your time my man!! Kiitos!!
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Hey man! Oh it’s really basic: my input & output device is my Steinberg audio interface 😎. It’s the basic Mac mouse and works just fine for me.

Excellent tutorial! I use similar method with EZ drummer 2. When did you change from your focusrite 2i2 to the Steinberg interface? Do you find it better sonically or was it mainly for additional flexibility for IO? 👍

Another great lesson , do you record guitar first to a click ?
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I do usually drums first and jam along with guitar at the same time to get the arrangement & vibe about right and then I record the guitars with the drums & click track. Sometimes when I’m soloing I don’t use a click if I want things to flow more freely so to say. But usually I have the click always on since I’ve played & practised with one for so long that I basically notice it when it’s not there 😊.
