I got confortable with eye contact too, at the point that whenever I present topics in class, making eye contact helps me a lot to make sure that others are paying attention to me. Same thing in face to face conversations, it feels like a communication skill to use wisely.

I can hold eye contact with my friends easily if I’ve known them for a while but if I don’t know them it’s really hard to hold eye contact. I feel awkward with people that I don’t know so well, if I’m meeting the for the first time or if I just don’t really know if they like me. I have the same problem with teachers and aren’t very good at excepting praise because it makes me feel really awkward and I don’t know what to say. When I have to stand in front of people and talk to a group about something I did, I get really self-conscious and can’t even bare to look at the group. The worst part is I get really quiet and people are used to me being able to talk to them and kind of Being a don’t care type person. But when it comes to a group, even if I know everyone really well, I can’t do it.

Nah bro I just have adhd, hard to focus on what I’m saying without looking off into nothingness lol. That said it’s definitely a subconscious habit I’m now trying to work on, looking people in the eyes.

Hey man. My parents are pretty upset with me because my progress reports just came out and I just decided I would sit down and write some notes in my phone on how I could bring my grades up. I ended up writing my New Years Resolution early because honestly why does it need to be the New Year’s to set goals? One of them on the list was to make more eye contact because you motivate me to want to try to do this at school especially in a school were I feel like I don’t fit in very well.
