I've owned it for a little over 11 years now and I've put 111,000 miles on it myself so far. Yes keeping up with the maintenance is key to keeping you vehicle going for as long as you can make it go. Takes a lot of work and money to keep them going strong for years to come. If you don't take care of them, then they will not last.

never let it idle. change your oil every 3,000 mi with high quality XL boosted amsoil I repeat, never let it idle. I don't care if you're cold. I don't care if you're hot. they put the camshaft too high on these engines and then they put a little bar in the way that blocks the crankshaft from the splash lubricating the lifters. it's a design flaw. I don't know if it was on accident or on purpose but some can last a long time but most of them end up eating camshafts within 125,000 mi
