Wow, looking at those feedback tables, it looks like most of the stuff in there is actually mine o.o... From what I've seen in this video I'd say it's like 80% of it... This may be a problem since of course I'm only one person, having my personal opinions, not necessarily a trend as you say. Just a heads-up.

further info on player feedback: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hmGYgIGcgbSko7s one interesting thing i took from that video that jonas didn't mention: dont take feedback as *imrovement suggestions*, but as *problem reports*. You as the developer should decide how to deal with the problem, most of the timer the players dont really know how to fix things, they're just good at identifying flaws.

This video iz Zuper instructive ! i rly hope your game succed you deserve at least that.
@pandaqi17205 жыл бұрын
Hey Jonas, just a quick question: how do you make such snappy videos? I've been creating some devlogs lately, but they feel very slow and boring when I compare them to your videos. Do you edit out a lot of mistakes/silences? Or are you just the best speaker that ever existed (at least on video)? :p
@JonasTyroller5 жыл бұрын
I'm actually not a good speaker at all. Yes, your speaking skills get better over time if you keep making videos over 2 years but it mostly comes down to editing. Just brutally edit out all of the doubled or boring information and then zoom into the timeline and delete every single frame that doesn't serve a purpose.
@jacobshirley34574 жыл бұрын
You also have to realize Jonas' videos have the style of being "overly snappy". That's not necessarily a bad thing, but that's what makes him stand out. Another thing is to try to remove every sentence (one-by-one), and see if the viewers actually needed it. See if you can eliminate individual words, without sacrificing meaning or tone. Of course, if you do delete stuff, make sure each sentence flows naturally into the next.

Wow, that's a great workflow you have there. At this point in time, I need to rely mostly on tip 24... But at least some friends are playing it. That's already so useful, because they just instantly expose so many bugs xD One question, though, and you may not really have an answer for this one, but how would you handle playtesting for a story-driven game where you don't want spoilers to get public before the game is out? In other words, how would you make sure that your playtesters don't spread details outside of the test environment?

@Marco_zlb5 жыл бұрын
I think you can change the linearity of your game by reusing levels but adding stuff to make them harder. - like a lot harder. That way you can practice to become good at the game but its not getting boring as the level changes. I mean just add parts to levels with flags and only include them if the flags are set.
