This PCOS journey has been so rough. Since stumbling across your videos and IG ive been 3mos dairy and gluten free. I feel tired still and my weight has been at a standstill since losing 8lbs but I know it’s all a process. I feel defeated some days but I’m still going to keep up with this journey because my health and being healthy and fit means everything to me! My acne is not as bad since going DF/GF. Thanks so much for all your information that literally keeps me going!

I just get acne before and during my period. Cutting out dairy helps and a probiotic. I take turmeric for inflammation although insulin resistance is the main cause. Keeping my gut healthy is another major cause to my acne.

Completely cut out gluten and dairy from my diet and actually realised I was lactose intolerant, and gluten gave me really bad bloating. I’m really happy that I found you guys. I’ve had really bad cystic acne for most of my life and it’s been extremely frustrating and embarrassing! I’ve been to dermatologists and they also prescribed spironolactone but I started gaining weight and didn’t want to take medications for the rest of my life just for my acne! Then I came across your page and I’ve been trying to eliminate both gluten and dairy and omg it’s the only thing that has been helping me! A cyst that I’ve had for MONTHS has finally disappeared! I just want to thank you so much for helping me figure out the root cause!! ♥️

The first three years of high school I struggled a lot with acne and getting my period and I never really understood why. I went to multiples doctors in the u.s and in Mexico. Until this past February I was diagnosed with PCOS as a 19 year old I felt like my world was ending. The worst part was that they just told me to lose weight and exercise more which was already doing. I recently found this channel and I couldn’t be any more happy. I started using the supplements and I stop eating gluten and dairy. I now have more energy I’m sleeping better. I’m not close to where I want to be but I’m definitely making progress.

Hello! I just wanted to say how thankful I am for y’all. I am a mail carrier and I tend to listen to podcasts throughout the day. I was thankful to have stumbled across y’all’s podcast recently and I have been BINGING every episode! I was diagnosed earlier this year with PCOS and was told to find something sustainable to lose weight. I’m trying to conceive so I am doing everything! I initially lost 15 lbs just by switching to a Mediterranean and Whole Foods diet and then my weight stalled. Then I found you guys! The information the two of you provide is so extensive and helpful. I am starting to go dairy and gluten free and hoping this will help me ovulate again. I am also starting to do slow weighted workouts. Taline, thank you for taking your experience with PCOS and using it to help other women. You are amazing! Oh and so is your Mister! ❤️

People/colleagues walking up to me in the office and asking - hey what’s happening to your skin ! 😒 😒 Why do they need to ask , when they know its acne !! Got advice from so many people : Drink water , it’ll clear it all up - Did Nothing ! For years I struggled with cystic acne. Then decided to take action & take care of my diet and go diary free . Additionally, started with my skincare routine! N its been such a relief and i have cleared up my acne ! Wat a game changer for me - diary free and skin care ! Although at times i still crave for sugary stuffs. I have started using Ovasitol to stop my cravings , after following you over insta ! Thanks for all the insights ! Really helpful !

I’m an aesthetician and I work in a skin clinic. Whenever I get clients come in with really bad acne, I always first recommend they do a lab test to figure out their intolerances and if they happen to be another Cyster, I point them in your direction! Since giving up gluten and dairy, my skin is getting considerably better (still working on the sugar), which has been amazing for me, as it was embarrassing being a skin specialist with bad skin, not knowing how to heal myself!

I want to become an Esthetician & I have bad skin. Do youu have any tips for clear skin ? & any tips to become an Esthetician ?
@emilylouise6657
@emilylouise6657 Жыл бұрын
@@Dee_Dee794 the route you take to become an esthetician will depend on where you’re based. There are usually college courses in beauty therapy or short courses you can take, however this ends up costing a lot more. As for your skin, as I can’t see it, I’m assuming it might be acne related. I would recommended a BHA toner but depending on the condition of your skin how often you use it will change, to start with I’d say twice a week on the nighttime and concentrate on healing and hydrating your skin with the rest of your routine, it can be tempting to go in with all the abrasive exfoliation products but by doing this you will impair your barrier function and no matter what you use on your skin it will never seem like it’s getting better and you can cause more problems for yourself. Hope this helps!

@@emilylouise6657 Thank youu soo muchh ! I am in Ohio. I want to go to Cosmetology school because I think that’s the only way to get your license out here. & I have cystic and hormonal acne. How is the money as an Esthetician ? I want to work at a Spa, I don’t plan on becoming a solo Esthetician.
@emilylouise6657
@emilylouise6657 Жыл бұрын
@@Dee_Dee794 no problem! I think cosmetology school is probably the best route, I’m in the UK and depending on the work you do you get paid differently, such as how many and what treatments you’re qualified in. If you’re going to work in a spa please make sure that it is reputable and pays a good wage because it is unfortunately very normal for spa staff to be mistreated in the UK, I don’t know how it works in Ohio, but make sure you know your worth when looking for a place to work! Also you’re the same as me, unfortunately diet does play a big part in your skin also, it’s really important keep your cortisol levels low and stay hydrated to help maintain your skin.

Hi! I’ve been recently diagnosed with PCOS. Looking back over the years, I’ve come to realize how long ago I probably should have been looked at for PCOS. I went through a time in my life where I had very bad acne. I’ve found a face wash line that works best with me. However now I get acne in parts of my body I never used to get. I’ve started to change my diet, figure out what’s working and what doesn’t. Dairy will be hard to give up. But I’m willing to try!! I’m looking into supplements and vitamins I should have. I am so thankful I came across this page!! I’m learning so much. So, in regards to your question, what has been successful? I’m not to sure because I’ve just started my journey!!

I feel like the line we have to balance on between a non acnegenic diet and a pro fertility diet fight against each other……. I myself ovulate regularly when I have at least one serving of organic grass milk daily. When I start cutting lots of food groups out my fertility goes out of balance

I had the same experience, I went to the doctor because I had so much acne. His response was you should not be looking like that(I thought it was quite mean) but he was completely right I was covered in acne full face back chest. It was embarrassing to go to school. Wearing foundation would cause even more acne. My doctor told me I had PCOS even before my test. After getting an ultrasound it was proved. Going to the dermatologist I also thought I would get some answers but alas nothing all I got was sporonolactone. Initially I thought it was working but I had to go to the washroom so many times, and I would get chest pain from taking the medicine. I had to stop the medicine because the side effects were really bad. Acne has since never gone from my life it’s been over 10 years. I first got acne when my periods started and now I’m an adult and still suffering! I’m really hoping what worked for you will work for me. I hate having this problem 😭

Totally unexpected, feeling how it all began to shrink and eventually disappear within 2 months was so liberating. I followed the steps I mentioned, and within the first 2 weeks the bloating was gone. I simply go'ogled Tilly Strankten's Ovarian Guide and it's like I hit the feel-good reset button lol.

I never had acne until I turned 26. I started getting cystic acne... And started having stomach. It wasn't until after I had my children that I was diagnosed with PCOS... Only because I was trying everything for the life of me I couldn't lose the weight I had gained while pregnant. Slowly starting to balance out my hormones and figure out what eating habits are the best for me

I was diagnosed quite young and was suggested the usual "lose weight" method. I only recently started to understand quite a few of what I have been dealing with was due to PCOS. The constant ibs symptoms, mood shifts from 0 to 90, body and facial hair, weight gain and difficulty to maintain any loss. I worked through various trial and error methods to lose the weight and although not completely, I was able to get to on the dot periods but the weight gain is still stressful. I've recently come across your channel and learning more about pcos has helped understand it isn't me but part of the symptoms. It is a daily struggle and I am working through it.

I worked with a doctor and was on a super restrictive diet for a year: no dairy, gluten, sugar, soy, corn, red meat, etc. It kinda helped at first, but then all my acne came back with a vengeance. What do you do if diet doesn't make a difference? The only thing that seems to help my acne is one specific brand of birth control.

Drinking matcha decaf or regular might help or matcha-suplements. I read somewhere that also green mint tea, in finnish viherminttu, I'm not sure if green mint is the english name can reduce the androgens. I had a long period of time ( a few years) where I only drank plant based milk, but since it became more expensive, I traded it for regular cow milk. When drinking the plant based one, my acne was more tolerable, no cysts, rarely pimples, but when the cow milk, I started to have large cysts on my neck and jawline and near mouth-area, so it seems it is beneficial if not completely eradicating acne to go plant based, and I'm not gluten free

I went to a dermatologist to consult about my acne scar on the chin. The scar is hypertrophic caused by painful cystic acne I got almost every month before menstruation since my teenager time. I have quite a regular cycle and in normal time range (25-28 days). But then she asked me, "Do I have PCOS?" I never checked it before, but I have a regular menstrual cycle. But, I have quite sensitivity with dairy and gluten product (instant noodle, etc). If I eat them, it is likely going to have acne
