To adjust the tile around if needed. If you are right up against the sides of the base you can squish your tile and you have no room to correct.

If it’s not recommended, I would not use it. Check the instructions what they approve. I will tell you this, I just installed a brand new tile redi pan in my new house build and it has a grainy finish on it. Just curious, how is the finish of your tile redi base? Is it smooth or does it have a grainy grayish finish? Thanks for the kind words.

What is the best wall board from your experience to match with the tile redi pan (that doesn't cost what the redi wall board costs)? And what compound do you use where it meets one another? The stuff that redi sends or something else similar?

I’ve always used redi flash and 1/2 durarock with red guard. It’s easy and really mistake proof. If you watch all of my tile redi vids I go into how to water proof all of it.

I want to be confident that using the Tile Redi Shower Pan is going to be what i want for my new home shower base! Have you NOW switched to using the Thin set mortar over the Epoxy ? You seemed to be so strongly adamant about using the epoxy i the other video I commented on....

I love the epoxy, 100%, but after trying the thinset modified mortar on the new pans, it works. I love these pans and tile redi and I do not have a partnership or anything. I’ve seen so many mud job pans fail over the years I wanted something that will never fail. When I installed my first tile redi pan, I was sold. This was before my videos and being in the dark with them. The only negative of the pan is if you have to install the plumbing on top the subfloor. I go over that as well and show why it’s such a pain. Good luck with project if you decide to go with the pan!

Nice job, looks great! I am planning on setting my floor tiles this weekend. I am using mesh backed mosaic Marble tiles. They are 3/8th's so I think I will also be using a 1/14x1/4 with CB Pro Lite in white.

Question. I have recently installed the tile redo system and installed the tile using the epoxy mortar bought with the tile redi system. I have a “hollow” spot on one of the edges of my tile near the grout line, have you ran into this? Is there a remedy fix for this? Thanks

Hollow? Is the grout moving? If not, you should be fine. For clarity, is the tile moving or the tile redi base

What’s the purpose of the tape? I didn’t see anything in the video except you saying you were going to tape it. I didn’t see it on the tile while cutting either…

Have had any problems with water sitting in the linear drain at the ends? The tile redi trench does not seem sloped.

I've never had an issue in my own house, I've never heard of someone bring it up. If you are level, the water will naturally go to the low point(the drain itself). If you're off on your install, I can see water pooling, but, that's the installers mistake.

Looks great! Just curious; why do you think there isn't a lot of talk or YT content with more people using the Tile Redi shower pans? I used one for my shower, and thought it fairly simple and much faster than trying to custom form one myself....especially for a DIY'r

That's a really interesting question. I personally think tile redi that has a hard time marketing. I've talked to their marketing team and lets just say we differ on how to market this product. 😬. It really is a great product though. I love it.

With those size tiles and using redipoxy would u use a smaller trowel notch?

Yes, a lot smaller. Probably 3/16 v notched. The poxy is so sticky you don't need much. Standard modified mortar needs more to stick.

With this Redi base do you recommend using the redi epoxy or the Ultra LFT mortar? I saw an earlier video of yours where you preferred the epoxy and wondering if your opinion changed. I am still a beginner and was worried about the epoxy so was curious your thoughts.

LFT has been working well. I would go with LFT for a beginner. I have recently switched over to using LFT for all of the shower floors. Good luck with the project!

Center off the drain for even cuts and cut it all in setting each sheet in the pan...take the center row out first in whichever order is best for u, i just mark 1, 2 , 3, 4 etc.. then take the other rows and do the same. set the middle row around the drain so its nice and perfect, then drop in the rest..the floor shifts just enough if u don't have it cut in, in the pan because of the slope, from my experience at least..thats the money shot, around the drain, plus it gets annoying if u gotta pull pieces up around the drain if u don't lay the tile perfectly starting on a row off of the drain.. (thats just my way after having done it multiple different ways over the years, no right or wrong way as long as its stuck and looks good lol!)
