I’ve received a few comments regarding my statement “muscle weighs more than fat”. Please put this into context, when you gain muscle, the number on the scale is likely to increase. Muscle is more dense than fat, but it takes up less space. That means if you gain muscle, your scale weight may go up even as you're losing body fat.

Muscle does NOT weigh more than fat!!! A pound is a pound!! However, a pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat. Imagine a bag with a 5 lb brick in it then imagine another bag with 5 lbs of feathers. The bag with the brick will be streamlined and the bag with the feathers will be bursting at the seams..BOTH will weigh the same...5 lbs is 5 lbs. A pound is a pound no matter what one is weighing. Period.

Muscle still DOES NOT weigh more than fat. 10lbs of fat and 10lbs of muscle is still 10lbs! However as you stated muscles is leaner than fat, so if you loose 10lbs of fat and replace this with 10lbs of muscle through working out, although the scale will stay the same, you will look smaller and will see the difference in inches and when you put on your clothes. My trainers tells me to not obsess with the scales but more so focus on getting fitter and loosing inches (measure yourself) the pounds will melt away. We all have different bodies and genetics so you will look completely different to someone else that weighs the same as you. Goodluck on your journeys 🙂

I think people who only eat when they’re hungry are naturally thin - they don’t love food. Many of us lost the cue that tells us to stop eating, when we were children.

We don't really lose that cue, we just learn to ignore it really. You're actually supposed to eat slowly since it takes about 20 minutes for your body to signal that you're full. Many people will eat their entire meal in that amount of time. So just by slowing down how fast you eat, you will really begin to sense that cue to stop. :)

Good day, I am new here, just found you in KZbin tonight. I am 269 pounds 5.8 in height. I gained over 100 pounds in 12 years due to stress, depression and past trauma.. I decided as of this week 03/16/20 that I got to get serious about my weight to live, not to look good for others, I need to get this death! Weight! Off me not later but starting now! I learned that I am African American Queen, with three grown children and 9 grandchildren who owes herself enough love to know, I deserve to be healthy and live healthy for life!. I have cut all meat out of my life for now, but still eating my Brown eggs. I let the sugar, sugary sweets and juices go and the Pepsi pop. My addictions are sweets, sugar and pop. I'm done with it as of today. No pastas or starches as well. I have gotten whole vegetables of all kinds and whole fruits and I love black beans, I got them. And I got different varieties of herbal teas, I love tea. I got water, lemons, limes and mothers apple cider vinegar. I got all varieties of vitamins, protein and fiber powder supplements as well. And I am seeing a doctor and therapist which my doctor told me is important to have to build up my mind, spirit and soul. I am so ready to get this death! Weight! Off of me. There is cancer, highblood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, seizures and mental health issues on both sides of my family and all the women are obese in my family and men all slime. I can't eat sea food and never have due to allergies to it from asthma. I will have to work out at home on you tube videos. I can't go to the gym due to full, time job and college. I am in my late 40tys and working on my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology Psychology. I went to college for five years full, time to get my Associate's degree and Bachelor's degree, so I know I can get this weight off I just need support and advice along the way. I want to lose 70 pounds by July 2020 and keep going to about 160. That is a good weight for my height and frame 160. I'm ready! Ready! To take my life back, we as women take care of everyone but our own bodies. That ends now! With me. I will follow you and thank you! Love your advice and support. I will keep you posted.

I make all my daughters meals appealing to her eye..making smiley faces with fruit, using cookie cutters for shaping sandwiches etc. Also, I have her help me in the kitchen. Getting her involved with making our healthy meals really gets her interested in new and better foods.

Good job. Im also on a weight loss journey, started Feb 11 and as of yesterday had lost 16 pounds. I have 56 more pounds to lose. I have been counting calories and write down everything I eat. I agree fruit is perfectly fine to eat, its natural sugar. I will never give up fruit👌

I am 230 and work full-time and I am so ready to get back on track. I definitely need to lose 80 pounds!!! This is such motivation!! Dairy and meat are my favorite, maybe giving them both up will aid in my weight loss!!! Gotta change up all that salad dressing too, gotta try lemon juice!!! My day 1 of this journey starts this Tuesday!!

I am 5"8' 293 lbs and my motivation is not getting to 300lbs also I always had a small face but I saw a double chin sneaking up...that was it. I hired a personal trainer I'm no longer eating carbs or sugar but I'm not really seeing any results...I'm just trying to keep encouraging myself. I am also working out about 5 times a week. So far only 2lbs down in two weeks. Idk what I'm doing wrong. 🤷 Should I be seeing more results or maybe I'm doing this right. I'm doing keto but I don't know if it's for me. This info in this video seem more attainable.

My doctor told me to loose weight first and then work out and if working out first do not use weights because you will then be building muscle over fat! I lost almost 100lbs before with ZERO working out! It’s all in what you eat! As much water as possible and you HAVE to get sleep!

I haven’t been motivated to lose weight! I’m lazy I admit it. I drank sodas and whole milk. I eat bananas but not enough. I don’t workout at all cause I don’t have the money to join a gym. I know that I’m making excuses but I don’t know where to start.

Start working out at home. Find exercises on KZbin that you will love to do. I recommend Koboko Fitness. She's great!😄

KZbin exercise/workout videos are great - so many choices! Also, as Jeanette emphasizes, try cutting out dairy completely; plus, eat very little meat (just tons of fruits & vegetables). Another tip: You’ll drop weight super fast if u cut out wheat (no bread or pasta, etc); eat rice instead.

Felicia Dunn I would suggest making a realistic plan to stick to with you’re right loss goals. Then hold yourself accountable and From here you know what you should do. This should include the “yes foods” and “no foods” also you can work out at home with your body weight, weights and resistance bands ☺️ Also cut out/limit bad foods

Honey, I did Keto. It worked, for a minute. I HATED meal prep, so I couldn't keep it up. I still hate meal prep, but I just have to put on my Big Girl Panties & do it anyway. LOL By the way, You've always seemed to exude confidence. You've Done GREAT!

Was there anything you did to avoid loose skin? I just started my weight loss journey but I’m sooo scared to have loose skin lol. Buttt at the same time I would rather have loose skin, be skinny, healthy, & in shape than be chubby, unhealthy, & out of shape🤷🏽♀️ if there is ways to prevent it, I would like to atleast try though

That is a lot of weight in a short time but if you're doing it right then your fine. It also shows that your body didnt really want to be at that weight anyway so it came off so quickly. Its great that you're so motivated, as moms we dont always have to work on ourselves so, Good for you!

Can you work out for the five times a week you will start to see the results that’s what I did when I first started working out I was working out like for five times a week it was the best quick as fast as way to get results but you have to keep on a balance routine keep doing it even once you lose the weight

I love how you highly encourage a healthy lifestyle. Because I went Pescatarian for a year before I became pregnant with my now 1yr old. And eating a Pescatarian I felt so much better. I felt clear, light, energized. Because I tried to incorporate a fruit or vegetable with every meal. I’m working to get back there. And I most definitely can relate to your journey. Usually personal training, tennis, fitness classes, yoga, Pilates, Resturant or food stand with healthy options. showers w amenities, basketball, Racket ball, indoor track masseuse, cold pool, sauna, steam room, Olympic size pool, child care services, whirlpool, guest passes, nicer staff, coded lockers, social events with free food and wine & most importantly, other people who are serious about health & wellness so you’ll be in good company.

Hailey working out helps tighten the skin as you lose weight so it doesn’t become loose.

Why is it that some women gain so much weight from pregnnacy and other just gain the typical 25-35 pounds? I don't understand women packing on excess weight. Where is it coming from?

I did the same thing. 2 hours running on treadmill 3 times a week. And no meat. Only fish. I did eat all the butter cheese and sugar I wanted. I ate all the food I wanted. Just no meat. Anyone who says fruit is not good for you is psycho. Sorry but no. And I drank 2 shots of McDonald’s espresso in coffee before and during workout and had 1 energy bar half way through and listened to loud dance music. This helps me be able to breathe good (exercise induced asthma) and helps you keep going. This also lowered my a 1 c. Good job.

Every video you look better and better! Not that anything was wrong how you look prior. I'm a chucky woman so I know how hard this journey is. Junk food is my weakness. I'm praying by the end of this year I can lose the weight. You inspire me to keep going.
