My dad worked with Rob for a few years. He once told him, with great sincerity, “I’m not a pop star, I’m a rock star”. He smoked 80 a day, had a pet wolf and bought a tank on a whim. His live in chef mainly made him cups of tea and he was basically a big baby who couldn’t walk from one room to another without being followed by a team of helpers. His wife, Ayda, was apparently lovely though. I get the impression she’s tamed him in recent years.

Take away that one title line and you've got a hit single, that riff was amazing, that song gets stuck in my head something fierce with the whole "Aaaaa-aa-aaa-aa-aaa-aa-aa-aa-arms around me." Here in America I had to google what the title meant cause I didn't know you all called lunch by dinner, which we call our evening meal... So confusing!😅 And I say "Again," (fitting on this channel!) because you read a comment of mine before on my other account: R.SENAL's_ARSENAL when I was reacting to Extreme's new single on their page. oh that is wisdom right there "the wrong note played with the requisite confidence becomes the right note" - only I've recently experienced this in the opposite... I'm part of a community choir/choirs (we merge - like, oh what was that cartoon - 5 people in their machines became one giant battle robot) - so 5 choirs, (locations, nights) but one choir - _anyway_ we had our xmas concert/fundraiser recently and the LOOK on our choir leaders face right at the end of one song - it was - 'oh no, did _that_ sound terrible' 'oh that must have been really *really* REALLY bad to get _that look_ - and it was not just me - ALL of us wanted to know what we had done wrong (he does not hold back on his feedback, but it always makes us laugh) turns out that was a look of RELIEF - apprently we had got a bit "excited" and started to speed up near the end - was like a "runaway train" - and he wasn't sure how it was going to end - fortunately on a joyful note (it was 'Joy to the World' an adapted version of the Pentatonix version, hopefully there will eventually be a recording/video) this year we have been, hmm, tuning our instruments - focusing on technquie, having 'sectionals' to have intensive time as a 'section' - turns out, for sopranos at least, it is so NOT about 'me, me, me, me' (the sterotypical diva warming up) - nah, it's about 'YOU' - resonating that sound, that noise, raising it up, to the cheeks, or the eyes - the soft palate, 'smelling the rose' all kindof just clicked into place, ahhh JOY sorry forgot for a sec - _sharing_ my enjoyment, joy - at improving, for me, something you have perfected xx lol - love that Robbie Williams story. never knew you opened for him. I was, am, a huge fan of his, and his was one of the few concerts I've been to (him, The Cure back in the 90s, oh and Christy Moore - does he count? not so much a 'rock star' but he held us all captive with melodic voice), yes I know, sadly lacking, but then I live in Aotearoa/New Zealand, _sometimes_ we get tacked on to the end of an aussie tour. I was SO looking forward to seeing Robbie, and he was having a grumpy night, low energy, lack luster, grumpy night. felt a bit sorry for him - the venue was barely filled, and he was probably at the end of a world tour, bit exhausted and liitle enegy to bounce off - part tricky being an 'entertainer' "let meeee entertain you" used to playing to packed audiences, and there being (relatively) few people there, mere crumbs instead a full packed 'cake tin' (the colloquial name for whatever corporate sponser has naming rights to it now) sorrry typos galore, opps. love your work, love you being YOU - much love xx

A friend of mine was in the team that set up the lights and sound for one of Robbie’s concerts in Italy. Fact of the matter is that Robbie is not a nice person to be around and consistently insulted, belittled people and threw tantrums before, during and after his concert. He only did 45 minutes when some of the audience had paid thousands to see him. Everyone was so disappointed. He also barely sang, he let the audience do the work (and when he did “sing” it was a backing vocal track). Therefore, I have no respect for a man that has no respect for other people, including his fans. Rant over lol. Peace ✌️

@@dtjb793 You really wanted to get that out! lol...I had a regionally successful Band from 1982-2003. You want forward thinking people, but in passing an audition. It's about your performance, presence and personality. If you cannot be in the moment focused and confident, you'll sound shite, look uncomfortable onstage, and then where has your future focus gained you? We had 4 bassists in that 21 yr run. The last one was great, sadly he OD'ed six weeks after we dissolved. The point is, I've auditioned many people, and we didn't pass someone because of anything other than those 3 p's. If you cannot deliver the performance with good presence, you're already behind the 8-ball. Personality is all about how good a hang you are with the band, You just vibe off each other, and it will be evident to the band, whether or not you could be a good fit. You can have those forward thoughts, but most bands will not want your list of how the band should go forward, if that's what you even mean. It IS a business, and if you cannot focus only in that moment, at that time, it would be bad business to expect focus in the future, either.
