Hi Adam, I'm 50 years old next month. For some time now friends and family have been asking me how I'm planning to celebrate the day, what big event will I be taking part in? My answer to them is that I'll not be doing anything special at all (much to their annoyance!). I don't like being the centre of attention and much prefer to blend into the background. I'll be reflecting on my life in my own space, something that I find that I do increasingly as I get older. I think this is why I like your channel so much, you notice the small details, not everything has to be a big event to be enjoyable. I've only started watching you since you teamed up with Scott on Tape and Grimmlife Collective in LA a couple of months ago and now I watch you every day. Adam, I totally understand where your coming from. I’m 57, I too feel hum drum on my Birthday every year. I really can’t remember when I started feeling that way, but each year I struggle. Just as you the next day I’m over it. I try to keep myself busy so I won’t focus on the numbers, nothing I do or try seems to keep me from feeling the hum drum of the day. Happy birthday Adam! I totally understand the feeling of being off on your birthday and New Years Eve, I've always attributed it to the fact that I'm single. I feel this way at weddings and parties, I guess any large gatherings. I make myself go, but don't really enjoy it that much. When I tuned 50 I went to Epcot to listen to Chubby Checker during the flower and garden festival. Chubby invited me on stage to do the twist with him and he was not aware it was my 50th birthday. After viewing home movies (8 mm film-before camcorders, years before digital) my sister sent me recently, I told her it made me homesick for the past. Memories can be bittersweet, especially when some of those loved ones have long passed on. Taken in the early 1970’s when our oldest children were little, it brought on a longing for those simpler times. My eldest son will be 52 this year, my middle turned 49 earlier this year, and my youngest is on the cusp of 39 this week. I have wondered where in that age bracket you fell, Adam. I haven't been one to really celebrate my bday since my 20's and I also become very reflective about my life whenever my birthday starts to draw near - I think it must be a "Leo" thing... just watched a really bad movie called Woodland that is set in the north Pacific off British Columbia coast. A really low budget movie that made be laugh. But what beautiful country it must be up there 😎

First off…..HAPPY BIRTHDAY! If I were able, I sure would be at one of the two Disney parks to celebrate my birthday. What a day that would be! As for letting the past creep in and kind of pulling you away from the present, my motto is, remember the past, live in the present, and look towards the future. To any of these things in a different order takes away from the moment of now. And now is what counts. The past is gone, so you can’t really live in the past, the future is not here yet, nor set in stone. So enjoy today. Enjoy this minute. Let not the past or the future rob you of this special time. It will never come around again. I’m glad you made the effort to do the things that made your Birthday special!
