I too lost the natural battle but feel as if I won the war with my hair after I texlaxed last night!!! my hair just felt healthier and easier to manage. I have been natural since 2010 but due to my stylist putting too much heat in my hair I had severe heat damage on my ends and they looked relaxed. I watched like a million videos the week prior (not literally) and received so many tips. I used Silk Elements lye regular w/ Shea and I mixed ORS conditioner and olive oil in my relaxer. I put olive oil and conditioner on my straight ends and sectioned each section in thirds twisting the hair I didn't want relaxed so I knew where to stop the relaxer on my hair shaft. I based the hell outta my scalp with motions relaxer base and put vaseline all over my face neck and back!!! Lol I didn't want to take any chances!!! I relaxed the back first and washed it out in 10 min. I was scared to reconstruct before neutralizing so I washed with the neutralizer twice 1st then applied the Apoghee 2 min reconstructor, rinsed, neutralized again until suds were white, then added more reconstructor and let it sit while I relaxed the front. I did the same thing to the front and let the 2 min sit for 5 mins before rinsing it all out. The textured pattern came out perfect!!!!! I mixed the silk elements conditioner mayonnaise and shea moisture deep condition mask and put all this in my hair and twisted 3 sections and left in overnight under condition cap. during the entire process I did not comb or brush my hair while wet to keep from pulling it in its newly texlaxed state. in the morning I will rinse out and use Herbal Essence Hello Hydration to detangle and comb under running water. I know this is lengthy but I wanted to share some ideas used that make this process so easy being my 1st time. Thank you for your inspiring and extremely helpful video!!!!!

We dont know what natural is. It really is something untouched. So all of the so called naturals, who put so much of this and that (to condition, manage, tame, beautify or whatever we want to call it) in their hair; that is not natural. Why cant we just say stuff like permless or not relaxed so people can just realize that it is a choice or preference, not some immoral code to being a black person with hair. And I am without a perm or relaxer. But I realize either way that we all do toil over outter beauty to some degree and it's not always wrong.

I’ve been “natural” nearly 30 years, my life has changed so much that I would like to loosen my curls for ease of manageability & maintenance! I’m hesitant to texturize my waist length hair, myself and & have “trust issues” regarding if a stylist would be able to texturize my hair to the desired texture.

However, 4-5 months later, my hair refused to return to "natural" evenly, became stringy on the ends and kept tangling and breaking, so I had to cut off inches.

Hello, i wanted to ask, is it possible to do texlaxing with any relaxer?
@MekaMonroexo4 жыл бұрын
Sorry I’m just now getting back to you but yes you can just cut down the time you leave it on

Just for me hair has a harsh chemical that they use to clean out drainage pipes in the kitchen. I'm not sure if they took it out by now but just be aware and careful of that.

I don't understand why people think it takes forever to do hair. My wash and go's take an hour and a half, that includes drying (air dry) and diffusing. My twist outs are take longer because I have to wait all night for it to dry, but once it's dry boom. I just hate to see women texturize their hair because it's just a perm that isn't as strong. 😫😫😫 But it's your hair, if a professional says your hair is healthy after you do this that's great.

You said you washed it 3 days ago was there product in your hair at all ?

No I usually rinse braid it up and then do the texlax a few days later

I feel like you didn't use enough. All the videos I saw they had so much texturizer you could see all the white. You barely put any in lol

I want to do this but my hair is soooooo thick and IDK how it's gonna look lol and I hate relaxers so like the touch up issue is ???????

House of farts I think you should try it because I've heard that it looks best when you have thick hair

Thats depressing. I have super thick hair too, it's so unmanageable at the moment. I really want a texturizer
@user-zx5xw4yw2e6 жыл бұрын
House of farts. Because u didnt follow the directions n comb thru sliwly with a wide tooth comb in order to loosen yr coils. Thats y it didn't take. 9 times out of 10.

So the times that I got a relaxer it was texlaxed because my hair never got straight ever I got about 2 in my life and my mom and I agreed to give it up

My hair is the texture of your hair after you texturized it BUT it's extremely frizzy and will turn into an afro not long after it dries and I've tried gels and a whole lot of stuff to prevent it but nothing seems to work. I want to Texturize in order to maybe try breaking up some of my more coiled pieces of hair and make wearing it natural easier. Do you think if I were to texturize my hair would just run straight and I'd lose all curl pattern or do you think it'll just make it easier to manage??

Very nice results!! I would love to see you review Straight Silk Spray Heat Protectant by JuniorLabs. It really maintains my hair soft and silky 🔥

my hair texture changed as well but the doctor said it is due to stress. I have 3c to 4a hair but suddenly it's really really straight when dry but really curly when wet or damp. Plus it remains curly when its dry sometimes. I dont know what is happening

Maybe go to a professional who can help you get back on track?

Why do you add conditioner in the relaxer? I really don't know. I would please appreciate an answer.
@MekaMonroexo8 жыл бұрын
Densie Fleuridor I found from my research that I wanted to add it in to dilute the relaxer.
