You can get rid of the space between windows by going to Desktop & Dock in the settings! I think it says “Tiled space between margins” something like that. You toggle it off and it should get rid of that extra space

A while back, I moved to iCloud from Dropbox. All my work & personal files are inside iCloud and fully synced to my Mac. Every Friday I also take a full backup on a external drive. Recently moved all photo from Google Photos to iCloud and man that was some task. Had to do a lot of extra things to put the exim data back to the image files.

I actually had to do the same recently. Moving photos from google to icloud and it was a huge pain. Understandable that the companies want to make it difficult for you to leave.

14:07 To remove those weird gaps, go to Settings → Desktop & Dock → Windows → Tiled windows have margins and deselect that option

Yes, the internal storage is expensive but not because just Apple. It’s different tech. Do not forget it’s PCI flash doing 3GB/s read-write speed. Yes, that’s gigabyte. Most Samsung SSDs go 500 MBZ And you simply need space for your system, apps, and space left for caching. Those drives also cache your cloud drive files. You can work from those cloud folders because get cached. On your internal flash drive. So if you get a new Mac, of course, you don’t buy 2 or 3 TB flash for that price point. But for sure get 500 GB. For iOS same story every time below 256 and you will soon regret it.

I still feel, spotlight is great, this specific use case scenario could be achieved through spotlight as well, just have to type the name of the app and it works like a charm
