I think the problem is these guys are just trying to be someone their not. For McGregor, Chael, and Strickland when they talk shit it's just like a natural part of their personality, and they each have their own way of doing it and its genuine whether you hate them or not. The fighters just need to lean into their own personality and not try to replicate others who were successful unless you have the same type of personality. For example, Alex Pereira has skyrocketed to the top and become a fan favorite because he doesn't try to be someone he's not. He has his own unique persona and is just a badass fighter. About the Magny situation: Ian was clearly triggered by the comments, as he himself had an abusive father, and projected that onto Neil. It is pretty simple. Also, as someone with a bad father figure, you tend to idealize women, and he clearly has mommy issues, which the succubus knowingly or subconsciously exploited. Their relationship is her running his life like a mother.... As he himself said on tape that she is the master of everything they do. His also has obvious problems with self esteem, and needs to project this cocky image to mask that. It all clicks when you look at this mess through the lens of his childhood trauma. And it is just sad.

Ian wanted to get some hype. You've got it now. Was it worth it though? On topic: honestly, I don't care whether Garry's wife was looking for a specific type on purpose. If my memory serves me right, she hosted Ballon D'Or awards, so she was pretty good on her own. What's more annoying is the fact that Ian and his wife had no problems with twisting narratives, digging into someone else's private life and stuff. But once it was about them - all of a sudden "Oh don't do that". That would be acceptable from GSP or Demian Maia type - pure sportsmanship-like people who never take a dig at you or care about your personal life. But since you've been trying to play 2014 version of Connie Mac...Don't be surprised at the backlash. If I were Garry or his team member, I'd be digging some info on potential counters at press conference, since it will be Ian vs everyone in there and care about showing off against Luque more than blocking weird nerds on twitter. But to each of their own.
