Mpreg actually has a pretty cool start with why it was popularized. I can't remember when but it started being popularized by the furry community (which I'm aware is its own can or worms but I'll acknowledge their existence just this once) to help normalize male pregnancy which in turn helps normalize trans men being pregnant. unfortunately, as most things on the internet end up, it started getting sexualized and fetishised and all that, but it was a nice start :)
