By now, the false equivalency between anti-Zionism and antisemitism-which Israel’s supporters use to give rhetorical cover for Zionism-is a well-worn topic on the left. What’s less discussed is the role of Islamophobia and anti-Arab racism in Zionists’ attempts to smear their critics, particularly Arab and Muslim ones, as antisemitic. A new report from Rutger University Law School’s Center for Security, Race, and Rights (CSRR) maps the use of Islamophobic tropes in the discourse on Israel-Palestine, noting that the racist association between terrorism and Arab and Muslim identity is intentionally invoked by Israel’s apologists. Michael Plitnick and Sahar Aziz join the Marc Steiner Show to discuss the new report and its contents.
Mitchell Plitnick is the president of ReThinking Foreign Policy, and Sahar Aziz is distinguished professor at Rutgers Law School and the founding director of CSRR. Both authors have appeared on Al-Jazeera.

Very true, one has to go outside the box, and the books in college with a great professor or find oneself. And listen to independent journalists and writers and books, as we do with The Real News Network, and several others. Ativistism for the right reasons with a moral compass. Or be fortunate enough to have had parents to teach that racism and fascism are words of ignorance, and get one reading books of history and philosophy at a young age, and I did. We must fully resist and _always_ vote against (& less authoritarian than) both the Democratic *and* Republican Parties- including Trump, Vivek Ramaswamy, Rand Paul (He’s _no_ Ron Paul), and all other Republicans. For _all_ public positions. And this same strategy applies against the two-party monopolies in _all_ countries worldwide. Real libertarians will never be Republicans or Republican loyalists. You can always write-in an anti-authoritarian person if no candidates for a position fit that bill. This will continuously reduce the power of _both_ authoritarian parties in the two-party monopolies. Until our task is complete. Repeat strategy for all new authoritarian parties that emerge.
