I would actually like to see high(er) body fat percentages being evaluated. I ain't ripped and it doesn't matter if I am 2-3% (or more) off from a self-assessment, but my body isn't like those shown so I remain clueless :)

also, has Greg put out information about female, high body fat rankings, and his evaluation? If I can't trust the "gold standard" method, IDK where to find accurate pictures of accurate body fat percentages? edit: ha, the video about body fat on women was one of the two bloops at the end! I am going to consider the example table as accurate body fat percentages. edit 2: watching the other video and still a little uncertain.

42 lifelong all natural. Lifted on and off since high school. Probably about 12-15% body fat. Love your videos. Been maingaining for the last year and gaining muscle.

I'm 149 lbs 33-33.5 waist 5ft 11. Started the gym last year at 139 after going down from 367 in the 2 years before. I've only just got over my fear of putting fat back on recently, or at least I think I'm past that point going to bulk to 160-170 in till I can't see my ribs any more and I've had my surgery to get my lose skin removed. Aim is to get out of small clothes into medium and hold there. My scales say I'm 9% body fat but they also say in my first year of lifting I've lost 1lbs of muscle and gained 3% body fat xd

@@nicholas-dv1mg probably but the scales are probably wrong. Like I said according to them in my first year of training I've lost 1lbs of muscle 😂

Thank you for everything you do Coach Greg. I started training again this year and your videos have majorly helped, especially the positivity for just getting in the gym. I hurt my back and recovered now, and trying to get back to it at 30. Training again and the gyms helped my mental health lots thank you

I'm gonna be honest coach greg I don't think people will send their photos if their obese. I don't think they want to get made fun of or people saying things in the comments. It's like the video where guys were ranking their private parts by length literally everyone was like above 6 inches and only 1 guy with 4 inches and the comments were slaughtering him 💀.

I’ve lost 40 lbs this year thanks in part to making CICO and a bunch of recipes from cookbook 2.0 a part of my life, also regular long walks around the neighborhood and weight lifting. Down to 220lbs, have another 40 to go. Wanted to get to 200 by new years but oh well, I’ll take what I’ve done! Thanks coach! 💪

People have no idea how hard it is to do your compounds or even get perfect form when you got scoliosis. I can see because his shoulder blade is not aligned it makes his lats look uneven, the same problem I got, and benching is a challenge as well. We go through a lot of muscle imbalances because one side of your body will take more load than the other. So unilateral exercises is a must. Doc told me many years ago that I can't do any heavy lifting and swimming should be my main exercise but look at me now in the gym😅

Here here! Have the same experience, doc recommended the pool and discouraged me from weight training. Best thing I did was joined the gym, went crazy with unilateral work and never felt this good. Still struggle a lot with squats but getting there. Especially with scoliosis you gotta be extra smart about your technique and stear clear of ego lifting. Also having a PT for a while was very helpful at the beginning

Form is really hard because the doc said when I feel comfortable that's when I'm in a bad posture, so I have to feel uncomfortable in order to know that my form/posture is good, I really never liked swimming so I quitted that early. I started lifting by myself, never had a PT, I experimented with myself in order to get good/perfect form with many exercises, I still have a tin of imbalances like my chest, even tho all my chest workouts from the beginning were unilateral, so it's really confusing for my mind to muscles connection, my Brain is having a hard time learning how to engage my right pectoral muscle all because of my 30 degree twist in my spine ,it was 40 but it reduced when I were in a back brace

I have that really bad there’s a portion of the right side of my chest that doesn’t even have muscle in it it’s basically like a hole/indent my whole rib cage is adjacent and the left side sticks out really far. Specifically chest exercises are really difficult. The only upside is that it makes my chest look leaner than it is because even at high-ish body fat you can see striations in my chest.

Also my right lat inserts like a whole inch higher than the left side and my right shoulder hangs lower, which looks weird and is pretty painful. I’ve basically accepted it’s always gonna look weird

I have the exact same body as the last bloke and I’ve been feeling rubbish about my self lately. I’m a large muscled bloke and 200lbs at 6 foot 2. I thought it was at 17% and trying to diet down even more thinking I was fat. Thank you Greg as I truly believe I’m at 10-12% now! In January I hit all time low and was 8% body fat (78kg )so this year have been building my self back up to 92kg at a very healthy body weight but past 4 weeks I keep thinking I’m to fat. This video has helped me a lot!

Greg.....im heavy. 262 at 5 foot 11. You have inspired me to change my ways. Do you think I'm going in the right direction? I was doing tren and then sarms and my labs went crazy. So my wife....nurse.....told me I had to stop. Well I lost interest in the gym. I've been a truck driver for 14 years. Still truck driver but bringing my meals and snacks with me on the road. Cutting myself to 1700 calories daily and intermittent fasting 16/8. Meals are baked chicken breasts 6oz with 4oz of brown rice. Snacks are berries and also more chicken. Also air popped popcorn. Only can get in the gym 3 times a week. Gonna go back to hour on treadmill 5 times a week at home. I bring bands to workout when on breaks on the road. Keep up the videos. More content for us average people.

The scholiosis guy should not listen to the doctors, i got it to, and you can do all of the 3 lifts as long as it doesnt feel weird. The bench is the only one that dont work for me due to the ribcage being oddly formed because of the scholiosis. So i bet he can do it

As someone who at 28 already suffered a good deal from scoliosis I can tell you the best thing I ever did was to start weight training. Just be extra focused on technique, don't ego lift, go crazy with core exercises and unilateral work, rest well and eat well. I never felt better. Any muscle tone will only help this condition and improve your quality of life, just be smart and be patient.

You can actually spot reduce a bit. Latest research indicates that Cryolipolisis can be used to spot-reduce certain area's in a way that keeps the changed fat distribution even with weight fluctuations during multiple months.

Hormones have a lot to do with fat distribution in women. That is how I would "spot reduce". With hormone tweaking. Get off estrogen based birth control. Eat a lot of meat. The more testosterone in her balance (less fat, power sports etc...) the thinner her legs will be.

All those lifts will be fine for having scoliosis. Dr sadly are normally the last people to ask what to be doing. Most lie and speak half truths for their own protection and just generally don’t really know much of anything about actually being healthy. They always use old science and are always worried about their practice more than the patient. Definitely would want to lift less then the average person to begin with and be extra cautious when taking any extra time off from lifting to make sure your always building yourself up to be safe while lifting but weight lifting is actually very good for keeping the body as healthy as it can be. I’ve had back issues for around 20 years since going in a coma at 20 and lifting really is a must to keep from being in pain and at a higher risk of hurting myself. Most Dr don’t really understand that just like most don’t understand proper diet. Hell Dr’s where and some still are 😂 preaching that extreme high carb diet food pyramid that you use to see at schools and doctors offices . Craziest thing ever. 😅

For the scoliosis guy if you see this, if you have access to a belt squat machine ask your doctor about using that. The weight is held at the hips like balls of steel so no weight is held on the spine. And you can get a huge ROM and not care if your back rounds.

I submitted photos, but I'm not sure if my body fat is easily readable. I've recently gone down in weight from 416 lbs to 195 lbs, so my excess skin may throw it off. I think coach Greg can do it though.

Anybody feel like he gave 3:06 (Leon) too low of a body fat? His stomach is not really that lean at all...I woulda gave him 12-13. My laser eye test is largely dependent on what I've seen Greg give people so this throws me off.

I’m obese I can’t send pics , I don’t have a scale to weigh myself. I can take pictures myself, however you don’t want that , and I wouldn’t subject anyone else to look at me shirtless to take pictures, these are reasons why your probly not getting fat pics . I will get middle to lower back pain from squatting over 200 pounds or deadlifting heavy (for me) so I started doing belt squats and weighted lunges it's worked great for me the guy with scoliosis I'm sure could find a way

Greg, I love your videos but since when did 27 percent body fat become "very lean" for anyone? Most medical sources put that at the average/overfat category. 😂 Also, the woman with 23 percent body fat looks quite lean, at least in her upper body, for how much body fat she is carrying. Her traps, especially have considerable definition. Thus, it's puzzling to me that numerous people, who commented on the previous video, assert that anything above 20 percent is "overfat" and "land whale" status. 23 percent body fat, or even 20 percent body fat, would be too high for a figure competition because that's a realm which calls for very lean physiques anyway. But I'm wondering if the people who stated that "anything above 20 percent body fat is fat" overestimate how fat a woman with 20 percent body fat actually looks. If that's what a woman with 23 percent actually looks like, she is hardly fat by objective standards, unless she were going on stage as a competitor.

It's not really spot reducing but if you increase the muscle mass in a specific area then in comparison the body fat % will be lower in that area
