Everyday I have something sweet because if I don't do that I binge eat at the end of the week. This made me lose 20 pounds in 1 year 👌

I went in to this thinking i just want to eat normally and stop craving and thinking about food all the time even if that means staying the same weight.. but I can see how if i started to lose some weight that would excite me and sway my motivation going forward.. I know this is something I need to keep in mind incase it does happen at some point!

I am on a path this week, discovering that you are speaking ME and I have an eating disorder. This was the very first video I found of yours- I watched it 3 days ago and I can't stop thinking about this one thing you said: "Why not shift your thinking from, "How can I lose weight?" to instead simply a goal to have "a healthy relationship with food so you can live out a happy life." YES! This insight has COMPLETELY changed me and I just wanted to say thank you for helping me on this brand new journey to start having a healthy relationship with food. You are amazing. P.s. your English accent, long hair and delicate beautiful features remind me so much of the gorgeous actress Jane Seymour.

I feel like i dont eat enough to qualify as a “binge eater”, but i experience feeling out of control with food and having emotional eating. Does this still relate? I feel like I’m constantly going crazy. Especially because I am in a bigger body naturally (when I was in my food restriction days and lost 10 pounds, I was borderline hypothyroid and malnourished but still considered overweight/obese on BMI)

Omg I relate to this so much! I generally don’t even eat a that much, but I have this looming guilt when it comes to food and I can’t make it go away 😭. I always feel guilty whenever I eat and constantly have to fight the urge to starve myself…good and Weight loss is literally all I think about 💀

Idk if it can help, but I was really helped by the book: Overcoming Binge Eating by Dr. Christopher G. Fairburn. It’s a workbook that can be used in conjunction with a therapist or on your own. I understand it’s literally prescribed in UK as a BED treatment program. In any case, it taught me a wealth of info regarding the disorder and to get back to the initial comment… there are different types of binges. An objective binge and a subjective binge, but it’s important to remember that all EDs are at their core mental disorders so honor your personal experience bc it’s all relative and relevant if you want to regain your sense of self and get your life back. I cannot recommend the book enough; it’s been pivotal in my life. It’s a long road but I wish you all the best. Lots of love, light and health… you deserve them all ❤

My dietician said a binge is how you feel about the experience. Just because we may not eat a quantity that registers clinically doesn’t mean we aren’t bingeing.

Thank you for sharing your story & knowledge. I'm trying not to care if I lose weight, but I don't fit in any of my clothes and I really don't want to have to buy new clothes for this summer. For now, I'd be thrilled if I could fit back into my shorts. I'm trying to find fun things to do everyday that also involve some movement, and focus on fueling my body rather than eating for fun or fulfillment.

i feel like if i dont over eat past satiety, then i will become very unhealthy. I therefore always eat past this, and i constantly hate it. I do care for weight, however i also eat releatively healthy, not rlly into junk food. My fear is that i will lose too much weight have gone through oethorexia, its horrible. Sometimes i fear gaining too much stomach fat, but then sometimes i fear getting too thin. I just am confused and stuck, it stresses me out and then i feel like i binge, which i do bc i eat past satiety

@@RachaelWrigley I am trying and I know its the right step, but I just can't seem to make it work. There is so mich pressure to stay slim. I am afraid that being at least a bit more chunky could cost me my career and everything because people tend to take skinny and fit people more serious. I know this is ridiculous but I just can't get this out of my head

I read somewhere that if I don't accept a future where I may stay fat forever then I'm never going to recover from my ed. Do you agree with that? I might be able to accept being a few kg overweight forever, but not obese. Just can't accept it. To me living in an obese body is almost as torturous as having an active restrictive ed and all of the side effects that comes with (weak, malnourished, other physical ailments). I was reverse dieting to get my metabolism up after a long period of restriction and that was working very well for me (eating more calories, eating more protein, hardly any weight gain), but then for a few months in 2022 I engaged in stress eating and gained 7kg and became overweight. I was able to stop the stress eating and dropped 3 to 4kg by continuing my plan. Then I got into a financial pinch due to the energy prices and started getting help from the food bank. I was unable to adhere 100% to my plan (food bank had very few foods on my plan, so I decided to compromise for the sake of finances, I just count calories now, less concerned with macros and food quality) and I gained back those 3 to 4 kg and before the end of 2022 was back to where I left off after the stress eating. I started working out in the beginning of 2023 as well but the number on the scale just went up. I'm now 10kg heavier than I was at the start of 2022, and getting into obese territory.

@itsalwayshalloweenexceptwh5118 Жыл бұрын
@Roxana Cucu I expect I always have some degree of elevated cortisol, I also don't know what I can do with that knowledge if I get it tested. Not that I could get it tested at my request, the Dutch system doesn't work like that. The good thing right now is that I have started tapering off the food bank which means I'll have more choice in what's in the house and will have to compromise less, my weight also isn't going up anymore. In 4 months I won't be using the food bank at all anymore, so I'm expecting my weight to start going down when I don't have to compromise at all anymore.
