I saw another video with something similar so I started to research. This is crazy. So assuming you averaged 500K streams a month, you would only get 1.5K/Month? That's like barely above minimum wage. I find it hard to believe that famous artist pulling 30Mil+ streams a month on Spotify are only making 100K/Average/month. At that rate, being an artist seems like a terrible path to go down unless you expect to be VERY famous. I don't see how someone like Russ can make over a million a year off of probably 20mil streams in total? Something is not adding up.

It will depend on rights to the song. I think that after a certain point you can negotiate with Spotify. But, it’s not crazy money. At a certain level you get paid more.

I agree, music isn't the best way to make a living. But don't forget money from touring, merch, and radio sometimes. Still loving making music can only be the first drive to pursue a career.
