Finally I have the explanation I was looking for as I discovered this by my own observation and experience when I cleaned my bowels completely with water enemas for several times ..one more thing is that when you first empty completely your bowels is that also your bladder will relax and you will empty the rest of your urine left. Not being able to empty your bladder is more often a problem of constipation. Many Drs confuse that symptom with an enlarge prostate. First clean and correct your constipation problem many other syntoms will go away..thank you.

I saw on shark tank a device called something like the potty stool. Basically an over priced stool. So I had one of those small fold up type, and tried it. With your feet lifted so your knees are above horizontal, with legs spread, it makes it much easier to empty your bowels. And the best part is, you don’t have to buy a vowel!

So I'm a 43ry old male and sense I was younger I always got made fun of because my mother would always make my brother and myself sit on the toilet to pee. She would always say that men who stood up would become impotent and that could lead to testicular cancer when we got older because men can't full empty their bladder standing up. So I've been sitting sense I was younger and all my buddies think its not manly to sit when you pee now mind you if there is no place to sit then I have no chose. Just had a friend told by his Dr. that he needed to sit when he urinates because he wasn't properly emptying his bladder that's why he keeps having kidney stones.Then another buddy had a urinary track infection that he didn't get from his wife and no he wasn't messing around like she thought. His Dr told him the same he had urine that was not fully released from his bladder because he works construction and he never gets time to sit really. Maaaan.... After all these years my mom was right and I love and miss her amazing wisdom. Keep sitting guys your wife's and your kids will love you for it mine does.. lol RIP mom and thanks.😇

Great video. I do feel that an important part of eliminating the bowel was replaced with western dogma. We aren't made to defecate while sitting. Proper defecation happens only while squatting. Using a step stool or squatty-potty can make a world of difference. Once that was explained to me and I started practicing it, I got my first clean bill of colon health 5 years later. No pollups, no pockets. I can now go 10 years before my next colonoscopy. On that topic, I'm only 45. Colon cancer is, I think the number 1 killer of young men. It was at one time any way. I was lucky to have a doctor order one in my late twenties. I think all young men in their late twenties to early thirties should fight to get one. The recommended age is not in line with the cancer stastics.

100% agree. Some Asian countries still uses floor base toilets. Only now do we realise dat it's gud n natural to empty bowel in a 'squat position'. Other important but rarely mention is it improves n strengthen 'hip/ pelvis n knee' longevity wid stretching n muscle retention towards aging.

See my comment above for a few more (like use a bidet and NO sugar in your diet), much more effective techniques IMO. BTW, leaning forward, or even NOT sitting on a toilet at all will get you into the best possible position to open the valve and put pressure on the large bowel which will cause a stronger natural contraction in the large bowel.

The breathing complementing defecation is something I discovered by myself through the practice of traditional martial arts believe it or not. We are taught well to breath properly with our abdomen to release energy. Release is something you do upon relieving yourself as well. So I tried that and been doing so ever since. Great tips!

Back in the 1970's my grandfather had to have a procedure relating to urination. I don't actually know or remember what it was, but I do remember him telling me that his doctor said sitting is a more efficient method of emptying the bladder that standing. I was a teen then, but when I reached my mid-30's I began using this method. It does work, plus there's another benefit from it. Due to the sitting, as opposed to standing, there's no "missing the target" which means the bathroom stays cleaner. And there's no need to turn on the bright light in the middle of the night.

Also in jails and prisons, they sit when they pee, it saves on cleaning them, time and supplies/money. Also, when seated, our guts get cruched up and push on the Bladder more, making it easier to pee. Maybe I'll start peeing like this more often, atleast in mornings and evenings, not midday though, or in public (urinal instead).

Being based in Asia for years now, I am familiar with the squat toilet which is probably the most natural position to discharge waste and faecal matter. I know many will find balance etc difficult, but once you get the into the groove, it's actually comfortable.

Yes. In Asia, we use flat seats. Very natural way to pass stool. You can use ur thighs to press ur belly sides rather than pressing it by both hands.

I tell you a great trick. Before you go to sleep, take half a tablet of Magnesium (500 MG) or 250 MG. Also, eat one apple when you get up in the morning and drink lots of water with it. It works. In the toilet watch your favorite shows on KZbin, which would allow you to relax. Periodically stand up if you have to be there a long time.

But in the bathroom, you can take small breaks by standing up, doing exercises or even dancing as you suggested. I have done little bit of dancing myself. Ha ha. Most people don't realize it but constipation can create all kinds of long-term health problems. If you take time to empty your bowels everyday, you will feel more energetic and you will have youthful looking skin. The key is to drink more water early in the day. Many people are busy at work and only drink water late in the evening, which only means more trips to the bathroom at night. If you drink more in the day time, your body will absorb it better. As I said earlier, many people have magnesium deficiency which is the main cause of their problems, such as constipation and muscular aches and pains. I take it in small doses every other day, and it works great. Magnesium is very good for health anyway, especially for heart, and it has no side effects. Too much can cause diarrhea, so you have to adjust your dose accordingly. It relaxes your muscles which aids in bowel movements. You can also take it with Ashwagadha, for more relaxation, and to overcome stress. I have taken that combination before presentations before large crowds, and boy does it take away any anxiety! Try it :-)

Sunday, 16 October 2022: I have never seen any medical advice nor was I told by my V.A doctor for men over the age of 55 on how emptying the bladder of urine of having a bowel movement of feces makes for a better sex life. I wish I had known that with my ex-wife, but I will do it now before my girlfriend and I are married. This is very good advice and I intuitively relate to it and can say this is true from personal experience. Also what I noticed is bicycling with a little vigorous peddling regularly as a physical exercise has same effect (especially try as much as to peddle up the sloppy roads with the body core bent forward) and it builds endurance not just to overall body and flexibility of bones and muscles but it also relaxed the internal anatomy of these body parts you mentioned in the video which helps in better urine flow for men over 55 years. It gives physical, mental and psychological benefits and boosts confidence, body balance, posture related benefits etc.

It's true. Women are so awkward and uptight when discussing these matters, often employing childish euphemisms or feigned bemusement. Seems to me than in the last few decades men have learned an awful lot about female sexuality but women are still quite (wilfully) ignorant about what drives men.

Hi madam, Since you are very enthusiastic and dedicated to find a solution I urge you to look at the traditional toilet style that normal found in Arab & Indian areas where you urinate & bowel while doing what I call sumo squat position which really will fully empty both bladder and rectum the best by having the natural forces of such position pushing every thing out. Worth a look from you

Becca, interesting , informative info. I would like to point out that this methodology assumes there are no other Physical Issues that would affect Erections / Sexual activity. Of Course, Age is one ; Vascular issues (High Cholesterol); and any Spinal Issues is on the List. I'm 70, and suffer with Spinal arthritis / Facet Joint Arthritis in many areas of my spine (Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar). Moreover, in addition to Stenosis, I have a Spondylolisthesis at L5-S1 Vertebrae and Dextroscoliosis of 25 Degrees. I have learned by doing my own Research that Cervical Instabilities has a great impact on your Bladder and Bowel functions as does direct impact from Lumbar Discs.

At least as helpful in my experience is to push on your gut in using your hands/arms on the right side, then move from the right toward the left (right to left if you're looking down at your gut), which mimics the actual direction of movement from the start of the large bowel towards the exit (it then turns right a few inches, goes up slightly, then down to the anus but you can't follow that). That movement of your large bowl automatically causes a natural contraction next to the anus that is REALLY helpful. You can't feel the contraction because the brain evolved not to feel anything in the gut (or you'd be constantly distracted by it), but it has been observed by gastroenterologist and it's very real. Note that if you get extremely fat, it stops working very well because you can no longer focus the action on the large bowel very precisely. So lose weight and try again! Another really helpful thing is a "bidet" which you attach to your toilet. It is used for cleanliness, but it's reallly helpful for constipation because most models will shoot a somewhat thin stream of water right into your anus, pretty far up. That is incredibly helpful for dislodging "pellets" one by one, pretty quickly! It won't result in a large movement, but it will make room for more to come down, which is very helpful and will shorten your time on the toilet a lot. Finally, I want to say that EASILY the best thing you can do is cut ALL sugar out of your diet (esp diet and non-diet soda or juice) and drink lots of cold water. Then use the toilet often. If you don't the body will have to use ALL your water to expel that sugar, which it does quickly because it is so damaging to your system, resulting in no water left for other purposes. So your intestines will try to get MORE water by slowing digestion and sucking as much water as possible out of your feces, which then harden into pellets. Oh, and Opioid based pain killers like oxy or kratom (and esp. street drugs) will also drastically slow digestion, causing severe chronic constipation, so you may be forced to stop taking them a few weeks just to start pooping again. Whatever is going, diabetics TAKE YOUR INSULIN, and everyone drink 2 gallons of cold water a day!

Thanks for this video, no one explain the causes like you did. How many Urologists we have been to no one knows the causes of these issues and only recommending surgeries. If they do not know the real cause how would they know it works? What you said make sense. My husband has both the problems, slow Urine flow and constipation, now erection issues too. My Urologist wants to take Viagra instead of finding the cause?

Hint for you older guys out there. Try a massage gun on the bone near rectum 1 min and then lower abdomen 1 min. It will relax everything and whatever you were holding on to will come with little to no effort. This works for both issues 1 and 2

You are right on girl. There are so many men and we on that don’t empty their bladder and bowel for days on the bowel. I’ve been finding out from close conversations from others. Some stating they don’t have a bowel movement for 3days regularly. Excellent movements to get things working.

Squatty Potty .... Not all toilets are the same height or people . Using something to elevate your feet and give you more of a natural squat position keeps the "exit chute " in a more open position as opposed to looking like a kink in a water hose. Really helps letting everything out.

I've always held my bladder near full before sex and using the toilet afterwards. I have to sit cause I almost always have another intense orgasm while urinating. I'm 50yrs old now and have done this for as long as I can remember with no issues in sexual performance or waste removal. I keep fit and walk a lot.

A more effective method for the large intestine I learned from a Health Visitor who looked after babies and children. For babies who are constipated you can used a gentle massage. It follows the path of the large intestine and encourages waste to move around the intestine towards the rectum. Starting on the lower right side by the appendix massage upwards to below the ribs, then across to the left side, and then vertically down. You repeat this a number of times. Gentle finger pressure with babies, but adults may need firmer pressure. Certainly helps to move things in the desired direction.

I had a large hernia across my abdomen. As a result I got very familiar with the path you just described. After many years, one day I was unable to reduce the hernia, and ended up having emergency surgery. I have been told in the past that situation ever happened it was an extreme emergency and go straight to the emergency room. My niece, who was studying to be a medical doctor, assured me that I was mistaken about the path of the colon. I don't know how doctors could not know very basic things like that. And there's a huge difference between knowing anatomy and knowing how things work. GP Doctors these days have only two weapons in their arsenal - "here's a prescription", or "here's a referral to a specialist". Next patient!
