jerome junior as a licensed agent to A LICENSED AGENT IN 45 STATES, I agree, this is a pretty good video. But as A LICENSED AGENT IN 45 STATES, you should know that someone in the position to be called influencer , must be careful with what they say, since it can be interpreted as direct advice. So making disclosure is going to give at least a layer of protection to Justine @Debt free millennials.

Young Lady, young lady, young lady! I am a 72 year old millennial (lol). I have never paid much attention to my vehicle insurance policies. Today I was getting ready to write a check for my auto insurance and realized that with all this inflation I'm short of funds. So, I told my wife that tomorrow I'm going to my insurance company and tell them I can't afford what I'm paying presently for the policy. I decide to get on youtube and look at insurance company reviews. Hallelujah! I ran into your video and you taught me how I could save some money and you gave me a strategy for tomorrow's meeting. You are a blessing!! I wish you and your family the BEST.

@@2_572 Not yet. I went to talk with an agent at the auto club. I told them that I wanted to increase my deductible on my two cars to $1000.00 each. I have a Travel Trailer that's 2 years old and they value it at 39,000 with a $250.00 deductible that I will probable increase as well. Talking to the lady I felt while sitting there that she was not too enthusiastic about what I wanted to do. She told to go home and think about it. So I did. Anyway I'll be going back tomorrow to make that changes. Thank you again for your advice and video. I'm going to watch it again, Emil.

As somebody about to turn 30 in 2 months and is JUST about to buy their very first vehicle, this video was perfect. Hey Justine, I came across here doing some research on a vid I'm working on for insurance. Great Job overall. On your policy you should lower you Comprehensive deductible. It won't cost you more than a dollar or two a month, IF THAT, and could save you hundreds if you have a comp claim. I'm glad you pointed on maxing you liability limits, that is important for not only giving you better coverage but it helps on your renewals each year(especially if you re-shop with another company). Just a note you might want to add a disclosure when you're recommending these changes. Some Notes: No-fault states don't cover some of the things mentioned. Also, some states do not require BI limits, and you can go higher than 250/500 with a lot of companies(not Progressive). Agreed! Brand loyalty is almost dead with the majority of companies. Def check out the savings with progressive in most states if you have a college degree, it helps. TIP: They highly rate the # of driver's in the home so if you have more driver's it makes a big difference.
@DebtFreeMillennials5 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for the feedback and suggestions. You're right, some states are different on what they cover. Progressive is what I have so that's what's in this example. I'd be curious to know what insurance company you use.

I think this was a great video that was perfect for BOTH people that want to understand the details AND for the people who just want you to tell us what to do. Some remaining questions I had were....I know I'm going to get liability. But do people NEED to get comprehensive if I don't care about natural disasters/robberies? And if liability already kind of covers collision...do we NEED collision, especially if I don't really care about my old car. At what point is the extra cost for comprehensive + collision not worth it for what it covers? Also some feedback, for young adults that are clueless like me. Everything made complete sense until terms like deductibles and premium came in. But after a few rewinds, I realized that the deductible is just what you always have to pay to initiate the insurance...and premium is just the cost of the insurance. I know it's kinda stupid, but it took me a bit. Thanks for this awesome video!

When you drive an older vehicle (and have a larger emergency fund) you can even self-insure for some perils. For example, I have a 30 year old Jeep and an 11 year old truck, so neither is particularly valuable. In Colorado comprehensive pays out mostly on glass damage (windshields). Older vehicles are barely worth stealing and floods are rare. By dropping comprehensive coverage I save enough every year or two to pay for a windshield. I replace one about every five years, so there is a net savings. I no longer carry collision either, but I do have Uninsured Motorist Property Damage coverage. If I cause the accident I have to repair my car, but if some turnip (uninsured motorist -- you can't get blood from a turnip) hits me then the insurance company pays. I have never had to use this coverage (or collision either, for that matter) in nearly 50 years of driving. Obviously this advice only applies to those who drive older, cheaper vehicles and are willing to assume more (but not a lot more) financial risk. If you have a 1,000 dollar deductible you are going to be paying for your own windshields every time anyway, since they are only a few hundred at worst. It won't work for everyone, but it works for me. My premium to insure both vehicles is under one thousand per year total.

Oh no! Your driving history can play into your premium. Do you have any accidents or tickets on your driving record? That also can increase it. What state did you apply for insurance within? There are plenty of factors that could go into an increase. Without knowing who your insurance company is, car you drive, driving record, etc it's hard to determine.

You should start by figuring out how much car insurance you need. Just follow the steps in this video! LMK how much your premium is and what kind of car you drive.

I paid $414 for per month with Progressive!! I had 1 accident was my fault and 1 speeding ticket in school zoon. So what insurance company do I need to find the best lower rate insurance??
@DebtFreeMillennials5 жыл бұрын
Holy cow that's a super high premium! I would ask Progressive how long you have to be in "good driver" status before they can lower your premium. I don't have a specific insurance company, but I used Gabi to help me identify a good deal.

Tickets are huge especially speeding through a school zone. When did you have the accident and speeding ticket? Usually they will drop off at 3 years.
@V.E.R.O.4 жыл бұрын
You're most likely paying that much because of your accident and the ticket, you're considered a high risk. After 3 years it shouldn't count against you.

Phillip’s Life sometimes it’s not even like that man I’ve never had an accident nor a ticket and my insurance is 600 a month for the lowest full coverage you can get she has it so cheap cause she is a female! Males don’t get rates like that until at least 26

Basically that $1000 deductible is telling the insurance company you are willing to fix minor fender benders out of your own pocket. Get a $100 deductible and your telling them your gonna call them for a parking lot door dent 😂
