Actually you are spot on, in my experience that is exactly how much KZbinrs make and it does not matter what the video is about. But I hope you do know you are not allowed to show exact amounts hence the reason KZbinrs do not tell their audience the figures. This info should be shared with as many people as possible though and thanks for making the video.

I'm glad you made this video. I was going to make one as well. On my biggest video 1.5 million views I have made $402, about .26 cents per 1000 views. The main thing that I noticed that sucks and you should check is in the creators app. It will say for example 200K vieiws, then when you check the revenue tab it will say Monetized views 19K ! I'm getting less than 10% of my views monetized. It's been like that for the last year and a half. I would love to know that stat for you. Talking to anothor youtube friend with over 100k they checked that stat and it was like 93% monetized views. Their channel is non weapon related and getting almost all views monetized. Either all our videos are being watched by kids with adblock or youtube is screwing us lol.

I Think you hit on the problem when you showed the average view time. I have found that as that number along with watch time and audience retention goes up, so does my RPM. I think so long as your videos are not being demonetized because of potentially inappropriate material. Then it comes down to advertisers preferring to advertise on videos that get lots of watch time, not just lots of views where people then tune out without seeing the full video. Studying the audience retention graphs is vital. DO you use Tube Buddy? it gives you warnings about potentially bad keywords. While I don't do many knife videos, I also have not found that key words like knife axe or battle axe get flagged. I also wonder about how you pay royalties on your music? Some music is paid from your ad sense earning before you ever get paid. I have heard that it can sometimes take a pretty big bite out of your income.

They have definitely choked you RPM back. I have a small channel and most of my vids get around a thousand views. I do have a dozen or so that have surpassed 1 million, but that’s a dozen out of 1100 videos. My RPM (rate per thousand views) is over 2 bucks. I don’t focus on making knives, in fact my channel is somewhat eclectic. I have made about thirty knife videos which don’t seem to be affected by demonetization. I have also made some homemade shotgun video that were not only demonetized but placed in a category called dangerous and age restricted. Since I depend,to a great deal on my KZbin income, I’ve since removed the videos that they seem to hate the most. I hate to be a pushover, but I’m permanently disabled and as I said, I depend on that Adsense check unfortunately.

I just wanted to say, that currently youtube F*&^%$ sucks. Videos get demonetized all the time, monetization gets cuz in half and subscribers don't even see your new videos updates. So I just purposedly opened up youtube and guess what? First thing from the top "Recommended", I get to see literaly 3 videos from people I subbed and 7 semi- or maybe even quarter-relevant. For me it's just insane that after a subscription there are other videos that actually get thrown in your face.

Oh and the thing I love the most, I often listen to music on youtube when I'm at home and there's the thing called Mixed for you or so. I love when eg. I pick Metallica mix and after 5 tracks it's Korn and after another 5 it's Skrillex, even though I never listened to either of those. Or like when I used to have autoplay on, eg. I am watchig Alec Steel, I am few videos behind or something so I just keep watching and at some point video ends and what do I get next ? Some Irrelevant sh!t just cause it's gaining popularity or trending or whatever the F@k.

That's messed up. .....considering that most anything in a every day surroundings can be used as a weapon. Tools, sporting equipment, household items etc etc etc. ..... keep up the great videos. I tell people that the brain is the most dangerous weapon on earth. The way you make stuff is a on the way to being a lost art form.

To earn money marketing other products you have to contract with the people who's product you are marketing, such as the video game Jake mentions in this video. Just plugging a product in the video doesn't get you paid by that brand name.

That's $2600 spread out almost a year for his very best video with over 50 million watch time minutes. If Jake's averaging 100,000 views for the majority of his videos and assuming only 25 cents per thousand then he'd be making $25. for most videos. And the fact KZbin still won't send him his 100,000 subscriber award when he consistently puts out quality and very original content is only throwing more salt in the wound. Maybe, just maybe someone from KZbin will see this video and help Jake finally get whatever the pronlems are resolved.
