Remember last year when you hurt your leg and could not fill the wood container and luckily Jessica & Lance could help - I live in Maine and we are expecting a very cold winter so even though I do not pay for the heat I am thinking ahead to getting two small heaters plus more heavy lined drapes and some bubble wrap for the windows

ThatChick Sammi Girl I was the same way!! I found Heidi through work out / diet / supplement recommendations (I was searching and she popped up). That was 3 years ago at least, probably closer to 4. Then a year and a half ago this family popped up when I searched Alaska prices (or it was recommended to me, I can’t remember lol) and I watched for awhile before Heidi was on a vlog & I screamed lol. I kept thinking dang I know a girl from Alaska who’s last name is Somers AND her mom is a dentist 😂😂😂🤷🏼♀️ turns out they’re brother & sister lol I was amazed.

If Bert is having gurgly noises in his chest he may have bronchitis or full blown pneumonia. No fun. Back in 1990 I managed to get the kind of symptoms Bert is exhibiting. Dear hubby summarily hauled me to the doctor to check it out. When the doctor told me I had pneumonia, I told him that was impossible as I have the CPA exam tomorrow. The doctor gave me a ton of antibiotics, I proceeded to take the exam anyway and passed first try. You take care of that hubby of yours and he will pass with flying colors :).
@akbychoice5 жыл бұрын
Jill Pruett I worked with a guy ( he lives in NP ) he kept complaining about how sick he was. I kept telling him to go to the doctor. He kept putting it off. When he finally got to the Dr., they put him in the hospital for pneumonia and ended up opening up his chest to basically ring out the water from his lungs. Scary to let things go.

Living in rural Iowa, not much of a wind block in the rolling plains. We go through about 800 gallons of heating fuel. We sign early contracts in July. I think we locked in $.98 a gallon! That's such a difference! We're very blessed that it's cheaper here. Oh and we have just a ranch starter home, probably about 1100 SQ feet. But it still costs about $400 a month. Here in Maine we pay what you do for heating oil. I think anywhere that has big Winters gets nailed for fuel! Most people are on autofill like my mother was but before that we did have a wood stove and it's still there she just passed away. My father would get up in the morning and light a fire when I was in high school and I'd sit in front of it freezing and then got warm. We have to worry about what you do in the winter water heat and garages are not the most common.

Loved this video !! In 1988 we moved into a 72x36 log cabin made by the CCC (CIvilian Conservation Corps, under FDR as president). It was made of black hemlock and it has logs over 72 feet in length with only a few spliced together. When it snowed, we would have snow on our window ledges and it leaked air something awful. That first snowy winter, we burned 28 piles of wood which split, measured 4x4x8 which is a lot of wood. Out living room was 444 square feet and we kept it around 95-105 so our bath & bedrooms would be 68. Thank the Lord we were in our early 20's and lived there for 2 years.

We have had a very early blizzard for this time of year here in North Dakota. About 15 inches in my area and farmers don’t have their soybeans or corn harvested. We have also been extremely wet this summer/fall which has delayed harvest and haying. This could be very devastating for our state if it doesn’t warm up again and melt. Family farms and ranches could go under :(

I grew up making Maple candy on the snow in the winter time. Just take small dobbes of real maple syrup and drop them all over the top of the snow. If you leave it outside overnight you will have a hard candy if you want to have it right away which is hard to resist it will be more like a Taffy depending on the temperature where you are. I always wanted to move to North Pole Alaska to sort of retire. I am handicapped and use an electric wheelchair but I still drive and I can walk very small distances such as inside my house and for my car to inside Walmart where the wheelie buggies are that you can ride on. I can also walk into a restaurant and sit down. But where I live if I can't get to the elevator from my front door. I don't know why I said front door I used to have one but now it's the door out into the hallway! Please excuse any typos it is very late and I have to voice type 100% of the time. I just didn't go back and fix a couple of mistakes. :-)
