Alaska is wonderful & incredibly beautiful beyond compare!! I cried years of joy & awe at some of 49's sights! Seeing Denali finally after weeks of cloud cover was one of them. The 2 summers we spent there were wonderful, the best trips ever! We liked your area & Fairbanks. We always went to Palmer for the state fair on the way home, one year running into a snow storm (in Sept)! Loved it. Saw the Northern Lights once! The wildlife, the friendly people, I could go on & on. That said, I couldn't survive winter there, so I sit here in Fla. in my air-conditioning & remember those happy days in Alaska! 💘 & prayers

In Juneau, we have Fred Meyer, Safeway, Home Depot and the world's smallest Costco. Most things Amazon won't ship here. With that said I love it here. One of these years I want to come up to Fairbanks and experience the winter.

Shopping in your area sounds a lot like living in west Texas. We lived in Midland Tx for two years. The stores were limited in scope of merchandise and everything was 10%+ over the Dallas area. There was no Amazon Prime at that time. Every few months we would drive Dallas for the weekend and shop! West Texas does have a lot better weather. Midland had a great sense of community. Every summer weekend a different church would have their summer festival, so it didn’t matter what church you went to you saw everyone at all the festivals.

We are in a smaller country town about 1 hour SE of Seattle. We used to have a smaller grocery store locally, but it is no longer here. We have to drive either a little over 3 miles to the town next to us or about 6 1/2 miles the town on the other side of us to get to the nearest grocery store. It's really not too bad. I usually just take the back way and stay off the highway unless I am in a hurry. (much more scenic-cows and horses and farms & Mt. Rainier. Thankfully, we got a Costco in just under a year ago that is much more convenient for us at about 7 miles from our home. We have lived all over the place, including Okinawa and Texas as well as back East. We know huge mosquitoes!!! LOL!

Mosquitos are bad in Florida too! We're in lovebug season too and they're awful! Alaska is way too cold for me! It does get cold in Florida but nothing like Alaska! 😳 Plus we very rarely do get snow. If it's an extreme winter (by FL standards) we might get snow flurries where I live but Jacksonville and Tallahassee will get snow due to being close to the Georgia border. I wouldn't be able to handle total darkness. I'd go crazy! I don't even like it when daylight savings time ends and it's pitch black by 5:30-6:00! I'm miserable without sunlight! I have that Seasonal affective disorder also called: SAD, seasonal depression really bad. I get totally bummed and depressed and not want to get out of bed or leave the house. My mood is not good. But when daylight savings time starts, it stays daylight longer and mood picks ups quite a bit! I love Spring & Summer. It's hot and humid, but that's all I know. Been a Floridian all my life just like y'all in Alaska! Hope you get your Target!

Way to kids!! I know how much work that you go through to memorize those verses. Those verses will come in handy as you go through life's journey. My daughter just got the Challenge trophy. Congratulations to all the kids on their awards!🏅🏆 I definitely understand about mosquitoes! In Florida we have mosquitoes 12 months a year. Parts of Florida have old war planes spray poison about 4am every day to help control the mosquitos. I remember going up with 1 Kmart and about 6 Walmarts in a 10 mile radius. Since Walmart is from Arkansas, they expanded to the southeast part of the U.S. right away. Not much competition in the area. Target didn't come until late 90s. No Fred Meyers, Meijer, Hils, Ames. We are now just growing in the past 10 years, because many northerns have moved down here. The cost of living is cheaper here compared to Alaska, however are median salary is 35 thousand a year. Great video!😁😎

Sounds just like northern Alberta. We have a bit more light in the winter a bit less in the summer. Not a lot of shopping options, expensive but high wages. Spring break up. Trees just starting to bud, not clear of frost free days yet. But I wouldn't trade it in for the city.

The UK is so small in comparison, its like houses even get built in you own back yard (Not quite!) but the local Walmart equivalent is only like 10 mins drive, and many to chose from.
