@matt8096
@matt8096 4 жыл бұрын
Yes This! It is capped at 60FPS but if you can make a map/base that is big enough to the point it drops frames then you can compare then (or look at the debug screen with tick times). If you need a map ask the Factorio reddit and you will have more info and resources than you could possibly handle, also just load up the same map and the repeat-ability of the test will be very useful. The factory must grow!

And the only thing I feel like upgrading is the CPU, a 6700k. Problem is, reasonably priced newer CPUs are only a bit faster (like 30%). I want an upgrade to be at least 2x faster to be really worth it. Right now, hardware is like buying levels in an online game... each $50 gets you 5% until you realize you're about to throw a ridiculous amount of money at it.

Really depend on your platform, game, etc., but yeah when my XMP profile kicks off it's noticeable when Zen2 is running at 3600mhz or back to the shitty base speed. BUt that's also Ryzen. Now it being 2023 I'd say the biggest tempation would be for building on a DDR5 platform, because that's going to make a huge difference between DDR4 vs DDR5. DCS WOrld is the worst case example, you can literally go from 2060 to RTX 2080ti levels of playability just based on how much RAM/RAM speed/RAM timings you have. I still wouldn't overspend on it, but don't let anyone tell you RAM doesn't matter. GPU is most important, but for games the CPU and RAM speed absolutely matters, some more or less dependent on game.
