What else would u reccomend to buy extra for best essy workflow to finish and master track? Which synts or smth? Just selling all Aira series not using them.. I personally appreciate what you and tubedigga put out for the MPC X product. Without you guys I would be clueless about this great machine. I've only played acoustic instruments like the B3 and Rhodes my enitre life. I finally stepped into music production mainly to create tracks for me to jam or practice with. The X is the perfect tool for the job. It also let me respect beatmakers and mpc heads that have been using this for years. I love that it's a standalone too. My experience is low when it comes to DAWs. (Changing that soon) Keep up the good work!!! Maybe one day you can do a masterclass or workshops on the MPC X. Get you some money out of your knowledge

Yep those points arent very clear. It definitely does appear to be multitimbral now, in every sense. Also theres no mention of any software/update being for sale so not sure why he mentioned buying software.

Thanks Poli, I have the X for 5 days now and for me there was a slight learning curve because I'm coming from the Yamaha RS7000 seq and then Logic. Sometimes I tell myself, "what did I get into now" lol. I think I get confused with Instruments vs Drum Program. I'm keeping it and it is my main hub

Yeah there is still alot of stuff they could do to make it complete but at least 2.8 is a step in the right direction for standalone users. I feel like they wasted to much resources on splice and ableton integration. Instead they shouldv taken a look at adding mpc features like those in the 4k and 5k. Maybe even look at older samplers from other brands. Features like glides/rolls made easier or portamento etc.

I love my mpc x,big improvement with this update now on the next one we need more effects like major effects that really kick ass in stand alone because to me that’s all that’s missing,i been using my Mpc X with no computer for a year on purpose,because it’s already a computer and a interface all in one,I want to be able one day to create a whole track no computer even for mixing and mastering now wouldn’t that be something???Hope they headed in that direction

If you go to the akai site they have are effects that are pretty sweet if you haven't downloaded them I would highly recommend it, and I believe they're free I use them in stand-alone all day

Can you clarify what you meant around the 1:40 mark about the midi not being multitimbral with this update. I may have picked it up wrong but it seems about as multitimbral as it gets. It has different assignable midi channels that can be enabled or disabled to control multiple simultaneous tracks. Realistically that should have been in there from the start (at least the assignable midi input) but better late than never.

I may be wrong about this.. I was under the impression it would control up to thirty-five midi devices, not 35 midi tracks from one device, but I'll take either or I can't wait for the update 💯

@@PoliPopo I think it's less about it controlling other devices. That was always possible. Incoming midi was where Akai messed it up. You couldnt assign different incoming midi channels (multitimbral midi). Now it appears you can, a very welcome but overdue update.

@@PoliPopo Yep definitely. Check out the Tubedigga video on it and he demos it with the 5 pin midi input. My problem with the MPC series before is that I couldnt have an external midi sequencer running in the same midi environment without it triggering the MPC's active track. I was running midi input to keep sync but not to trigger notes so it was pretty frustrating. Looks to be all solved now. Hopefully the equivalent update for Force is on the way too.

I know it kills me to sometimes I have to turn off and on my midi keyboard over and over. If it was working with the MPC software it should work no problem but yes sometimes I have to reboot everything and make sure you have all the correct drivers installed

Im really torn between the Mpc x and the MPC Live I don’t like the form factor of the Mpc One and I just sold a MPC Touch I know the Mpc X would integrate better with my system but I really like the live since I’m on the go a lot and coming from The Touch please any help would be appreciative I’m new to the semi modular world and just acquired 3 moogs in last month Grandmother dfam and mother 32 and I’m stopping there for now not trying to keep going down rabbit hole and I’m using more to sample with not in a live set as I use Studio One but I do love Mpc workflow Help I’m pulling the trigger tomorrow

With an MPC X you'll never have to gear Chase ever again.there are also ways to hook it up to a USB 12 volt battery supply that last for hours that you can buy at a hardware shop. I miss my MPC live because of the portability, but honestly with the 2.8 update the MPC live for the price will work great with you're set up

I put an Ultranova Novation synthesizer into it since 2.8 into my MPC Live (which has rarely been used since purchase due to time) but says THIS USB DEVICE IS NOT SUPPORTED so I'm not sure how to get out of update or do I wait to another? It won't recognise the Waldorf Blofeld either. Haven't tested but it's not a great thus far - Dave from South Australia, Adelaide.

The only thing I could assume is that there are some drivers that you need for the Waldorf, I tried earlier to run some VIP software and it told me that 32-bit was no longer supported that I needed all 64-bit.. I'll try later to redownload but for now I would just hook it up MIDI

@@PoliPopo I'm not running it through the computer - just the MPC Live with the adapter as explained it could run 32 synthesizers technically speaking on one USB adapter. So I tried two USB compliant synthesizers & both have updated firmware from the previous decade & no go on either. I'm not interested in using the computer - just the MPC Live as a sequencer. For now I'll go back to the Deluge as it's certainly talks to everything else without hassle via the Thru box.

Yeah, mpc x great machine for sure...always better and better, workflow and so on....but there is reason why good AD DA converters cost same as this mpc x....cubase and midi editing...hmm.connect all gear to mpc and after bounce to daw for better processing....hope to find better workflow for this...however thanks for your videos of course ! peace

I'm running 2.6 on my NPC right now and haven't had any crash issues,The forum ice cream used to lock up for 5 minutes at a time if the MPC start of spring logo on it but since the g points X I haven't had any issues.
