Great video! Sunscreen is an undervalued skincare product. In Sweden we have a cool sunscreen brand called Evy. It has a mousse formulation that goes in to the outer layer of the skin. It´s great for sensitive skin, doesn´t clog pores, super water resistant, non sticky and less likely to leave stains on clothes. They even have a face sunscreen that´s anti pollution. I love it so I hope it´s not bad to use a sunscreen that goes deeper into the skin than normal ones :)

Perhaps you can make a video of measuring the density of some brands of sunscreen, so it can give us more clue of how much sunscreen we should apply. For instance, some say that you should use twice as much as cream-like sunscreen if you use very watery sunscreen.

I've been looking for that information for ages. I mean when i use a thick cream, a dime size amount seems like alot. But when i use a milky liquid one, i use half the bottle and still feel like it's not enough. Idk what to do

Thanks so much for taping your face for the community 😆 what I find is that whatever sunscreen is, no matter how many people recommend it (Purito water sun block for example), when I measure 1/4 teaspoon of them, I am unable to apply all of them on my face (doesn’t matter if i apply super, super carefully; wait until the first layer is dry ; try it with different moisturiser)- they form uneven white patches, pill, ball etc, I struggle to put on an even second layer...!!! Would you make a video of applying sunscreen of the right amount, to see if such sunscreen ACTUALLY exist??!!!!!

This video needs another go round, pls show us again perhaps how you apply your sunscreen, its been 6 years, I think more ppl need to see this especially since you have more reach. i've been stressing myself out w the 2 finger method, but the 2 finger method dispenses differently w each formulation. and some even say 3 fingers. I now keep a 1/4 tsp in my bathroom just for sunscreen.

What a great idea for a video. A tsp of sunscreen makes a lot more sense when you include the neck, ears and hairline/scalp. Otherwise, it feels a bit like overkill, esp if you use a heavier formulation. Let's get mummified! :P

Hi Maria, she did say that at the beginning but I'm more used to the American recommendation since I'm using an American brand. Living in Australia, I tend to use half the amt since I'm not outside a lot and most of those areas are covered.

does layering different products with spf matter? i use a primer (with spf15), foundation (sp50), powder (spf30). personally im just okay with my spf50 foundation, which i feel already works cos my face has less melanin than my arms. i dont use whitening products on my arms & face. currently no sunscreen on my arms either. anyway i was wondering if layering several products with spf matter or is it just a marketing ploy?

Do all sunscreens have the same density??? And who puts sunscreen on the scalp?? It’s always been a struggle for me to be able to tell how much exactly is a quarter teaspoon, since our hands are not at all like the shape of a teaspoon.... so I’m tempted to have 2 bottles of the same sunscreen, 1 empty and 1 full, to get the weight of the whole bottle content, then use (5ml/4)*(total bottle weight) to get (weight of sunscreen per day), then just use a kitchen scale that has precision of 2 digits after the decimal point, on a daily basis, to tell whether I’ve squeezed enough out of the bottle per day.
