What about an emphasized mullet? I went in 9 months ago for a trim, and they gave me an f'ing mullet. I dont mind the growing out mullet, but when they purposely do it.. I haven't had it cut since. Bangs are about down to my chin, while the back is past shoulders.

When to cut your hair when growing it out 1) Setup Cut: have an end goal. First trim should be aimed toward end goal. Bring photo to barber. 2) Maintenance trim: cut off damaged ends. About ~6-12 months. 3) Whenever the hell you want: Stand by your decisions. If you no longer want long hair, get a trim. If you do want it to grow, then do so.

@Boga Destroyer A woman barber is typically called a stylist unless she specifically specializes in the Barbery. But for long hair care and trims, when is typically better suited with a stylist rather than a barber. Of course there are always exceptions
@thomasmason8033
@thomasmason8033 2 жыл бұрын
@Boga Destroyer The title thing might sound like semantics, but it is actually a slightly different profession. Stylists care for cut and trim and style medium and long hair. Whereas traditionally barbers cut trim and style short hair. Not enough people are aware of this difference and that usually renders them unsatisfied when they’re trying to get a trim or a tidy up or a dusting on their growing out journey
@thomasmason8033
@thomasmason8033 2 жыл бұрын
I actually just went and got a trim or basically a dusting. I went to a stylist and I had several pictures of the same movie character whose style I’m trying to emulate. And I talked with her, make sure to communicate clearly and I didn’t lose any length on my hair. I’m thrilled that we were on the same page and she did an excellent job. My hair doesn’t look any different or any shorter, just slightly better in terms of the ends and the shape

After months of seeing way too much hair in my brush and tub drain I followed someone’s advise and got my over the shoulder length hair layered. I think having all one length allowed for too much entanglement and therefore damage. Immediate drastic reduction in hair lost to brush and washing. Just throwing it out there.

I'm almost 6 months into growing my hair out, since July. I had longer hair in my teens I am aware of trims. My back hair is getting longer and my sides not catching up, almost mullet like. I want my sides to grow out and my side bangs without catching a mullet. I was thinking about trimming my back up a little bit and not cut too much off. Otherwise I really like my hair now. The picture you shown is the same model that inspired me, I want that look.

0:09 That’s the same length all around and not a mullet, and if you want the bottom to be shorter, so an undercut, then just cut the bottom shorter. 0:12 But volume is a good thing, not a bad thing, and it will eventually be able to fall down at some point, plus trimming it wouldn’t make it longer to weigh it down more.

Actually, when growing my hair out i trimmed and thinned it every 8-10 weeks, just because its so coarse, thick and frizzy and grows a lot on the thickness and not just the length, my hair still got longer with time, and it always looked sharp and neat during the process because of my frequent cuts. So I agree there is really "no rule", except having patience

At the start of my hair growth journey I had a very basic mens hairstyle. I kept cutting the sides until hair on top reached 10cm, I actually overdid it a bit and it reached 12cm. It's been 8 months since my last haircut and I haven't trimed anything. I feel like the top is way too long and it's too late to get a trim or a setup cut. It looks horrible even tho I have a whole hair care routine and I found out my hair type (straight to 2a wavy) and bought the right shampoo and conditioner and I used to use some volume lift products like a mousse but, it stopped working a few months back. I really want long hair but, seeing how bad it looks everyday is so discouraging.

You can still turn it into your end goal. The only thing is that if your hair is way longer than your initial end goal, you would have to cut it shorter to cut it to your end goal cut, or you can just keep on growing it out and possibly cut it to the same proportions as your end goal, but just a longer version, but more like pay attention to your hair length all around your head and get it cut to your end goal when all of your hair is just long enough,

Hey Trav, I really have very dry, itchy and flakey hair. A few days ago I stumbled across the apple cider vinegar.. could u make a video about it? Is it really beneficial for my type of hair? Thank you in advance, love your videos! (PS: I'm on the journey of letting my hair grow out)

So Trav, do you mean that i should have first hair cut after 6 months of growing out my hair. If i would need a haircut in between then what would i do?? Then after 6 months, should i just keep letting grow my hair till more 6 months??? Please tell me. Because people says that we should get a trim after every 3 to 4 months but you are saying 6 months. I'm confused. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Please tell me.

Does it have sulfates, silicones or parabens in it? If so, don’t use it & get shampoo without those ingredients. Also, use moisturizer & oil in your hair & make sure to use conditioner every time you shower.

Problem: I don't exactly what my hair look like when long because I'm the sort of curly/frizzy/shitty type. I've seen several examples, but I don't know which one is the closest to mine. And there are some that I absolutely don't want to have, but if it is what I'm destined to look like... don't know what to do

Hey Trav, do you have any stylist/barber recommendations in the Austin area? I've been growing it since the beginning of the pandemic, cut the sides a few times, and now it looks funky. I have some good length I want to keep and continue growing but it's getting unmanageable. Recommendations? Before growing it, I would usually just go to Bird's Barbershop.
