I was put on Ozempic (the lowest dose 2X/mo) for type 2 diabetes way back when it first came out. My primary care doctor is from Mayo Clinic. With every injection I had abdominal cramps for a half hour or so. It gave me loose stools. At the 2 year mark, the diarrhea was 8-10 times a day to the point I couldn't even go for a walk and I never ate anything beforehand if I had to go to the store, etc. Finally, I was getting so sick, my doctor ordered a colonoscopy and they found I had ulcerative colitis. I stopped the Ozempic immediately. I continued not being able to eat different foods and so went in for another colonoscopy. The ulcers were gone, but my digestive system was so messed up, I ended up only being able to eat a handful of foods. That was 3 years ago and I'm still suffering. I take Seed probiotic/prebiotics to help with the diarrhea. I no longer eat dairy, fried foods, gluten, red meat (I can only tolerate plain chicken breasts), follow a low FODMAP diet, no raw vegetables. It's ridiculous. Anyone who will listen, I tell them, please don't take any medication that changes your digestive system. The digestive system is so imperative for the rest of your body to work correctly and it isn't worth the risk. I'm still trying to reintroduce foods back into my diet but haven't been very successful. I am still under the supervision of gastroenterologists. *Because of my severe diet change, I am no longer diabetic...now pre-diabetic with my A1C steady at 5.4 so at least one good thing happened.
@johannas.l.brushane25184 ай бұрын
What you describe resonate with the critical points the doctor at the channel Idaho Bariatric and Metabolic Institute. He claim it being a signalsubstance rather than a hormone.And that many of the obese people have high levels of glp1. So the problem seem not to be a lack of it but rather they have a problem of resistance. The same kind of problem that make it problematic to treat type 2 diabetics are prescribed insulin, which tend to gradually worsen their conditions.

Glad to hear it worked for you as a vegan. I’m 53 and perimenopause/menopause really ruined my metabolism/insulin. I eat about 1200 cal a day and exercise an hour a day, 6 days a week. Menopause turned me from a normal BMI to obese, even though I continued to eat in a calorie deficit and exercised. I was supposed to start Wegovy 2 years ago. I finally was able to start tirzepatide this year and it has been so helpful! Nothing else worked. Intermittent fasting didn’t work, nothing. And I guess I’m lucky because I don’t have bad side effects. I eat a lot of plant-based protein and drink a lot of water. This drug has actually improved my chronic severe depression as well as my apnea and CPTSD! I’m very grateful for it. But it’s definitely not for everyone! And I definitely don’t think that people who are just trying to quickly drop 15 or 20 pounds without trying to eat healthy and exercise should take it.

As a physician I would not recommend this drug unless one seriously needs it to survive as there are a lot of side effects and being a fairly new drug, we do not know all the long-term side effects which seem pretty serious but not enough data. Unless you are morbidly obese you are not going to die faster than any drug even then many overweight people are actually healthy though I must stress that it is best to be at a heathy weight. Having said all that, I commend you and appreciate your honesty and not encouraging people to take this drug. That says a lot about who you are. Honesty is hard so good for you and do not change that as it is a very rare great quality and you sure have that.👋

My doc has tried so many diabetes drugs on me, but I haven’t been able to tolerate them. Either they give me kidney problems or exacerbate my major depression. Can’t spend another day feeling suicidal. Diet change not working. My meds that are 100% necessary cause weight gain. Still hoping for the right answer. Also, for those of you out there that are too young to remember the “phen-fen” diet craze, look it up. Yes, it worked, yes there were lawsuits, yes there were deaths, yes it was taken off the market, in 1995. Ozempic may also be too good to be true.

My mother was on this injection and suffered a heart attack and osteoarthritis. She was on this way too long. She has put back on the weight she lost and her diabetes is harder to control.

I appreciate this girl’s vulnerability and experience however she is just one person. I take compound Monjauro/Zepbound and it has been an absolute godsend for me! The research shows that these GLP-1s help substantially with so many things, and in my support groups people are having amazing experiences. Many of the serious side effects the media keeps hyping up are rare and many are ones that are more common and mostly avoidable with causation of not doing certain things. Just my own experience and hearing hundreds of others in my online and telemed groups.

Hi Paulina! I have not watched your channel before, but saw this entry on your experience with ozempic and got curious. Thank You for your sincere and thoughtful review of your journey with this drug. It is most helpful and important as user experiences are important and matter a lot. I am struggling with weight gain due to menopausal changes in the body and have been considering trying the version of ozempic that is solely made for weight loss which I think is called wegovy or something like it that is just being released in my country. I don’t know in what way they differ exactly as they contain the same substance. But my guess is the side effects are probably similar if not he same. I have heard nobody talk about these things - why I very much appreciate your candour about it!! I am also glad for your sake that you have despite the difficulties using this drug had very good results! 25 kg in such a short time is amazing and pretty much unattainable any other way I think… My questions to you since you did not bring it up and that I would be very happy if you could share some insight on in some way in another video or here if you happen to read this is if you are still on the medication now? And if so are you noticing any changes in the side effects as in has the nausea or the mental state or the fatigue stabilised or normalised in any way along the way? Or does these side effects stay constant throughout the use? Also how severe is the nausea? And equally the fatigue - can you sort of function despite these side effects or do they incapacitate you completely? And does anything in this regard change over time as your hormones stabilise in a new way, a k a do the side effects lessen or do they hang on? And if you have quit using it? How has that effected you in regards to the side effects? And also does the cravings and metabolism change back to its old self again or do the changes hang in there? I would be very thankful if you could take the time to elaborate a bit more on this subject either in one of your videos or here. As it would be very helpful for me to know as I am considering trying it out. All the best to you and Thank You again for sharing your experiences! ❣️

I know ozempic can be life-saving for some people, people who really need it. And so, for that, I'm grateful that this medication is available to them. But the people who are taking it just to lose weight or be super thin, I don't think it's good. It's such a new medication, and we don't really know the long-term effects it can have! Best that people don't take it unless they absolutely need to. If you are just looking to lose weight, there really shouldn't be a quick fix. A healthy, balanced diet, exercise, and change of mindset is the way to go. It's hard, but worth it. I lost 50 lbs with pure self discipline and motivation.

You look great with no makeup and youthful too. I think you look even prettier totally natural. For most women I find that it's the opposite and they need makeup to look their best (as is the case with me).

I watched a big you tuber share her experience with this medication and it sounded so horrific I couldn’t believe. And it seems different people have such different symptoms. Except the fatigue. But she had severe cramping and diarrhea so bad she couldn’t walk around. This sounds so horrible. Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s very important

Wow, not you putting your dad on blast. 😂 SLAY! And also, your video is informative and really interesting pov on ozempic. I like how you approach this complex matter. You're not influencing, you're basically educating on whaz COULD happen. This is totally within the range of a KZbinr who isnt a medical professional. Kudos for you putting your vulnerability out here, too.

I’ve been hearing about this everywhere. Especially because I’m related to and acquainted to people who can’t get the medication they need TO LIVE. I blame the doctors, not the people looking for a remedy for one thing or another. I also blame the doctor’s prescribed narcotics for cancer patients also known as opioids. I just think it’s sad that we as a society always squander the miracle of modern medicine for the whims of the Kardashians. Get well soon.
