One of my favorite comments from a discussion video on Anakin goes something like: Everybody who ever met Anakin looked at him and thought, "Man, somebody should really do something about that." And they never did. Everybody except Palpatine.

This is honestly the reason I am most angry at the Jedi. They allowed this to happen right under their noses. Anakin was living in the temple, under Obi-wan’s mentor ship, and nobody noticed that Anakin was spending all that time with Palpatine? They have nobody to blame but themselves.

I read somewhere that Yoda knew Darth Sidious, although not who he truly was, would try to convert Anakin to the dark side. Kenobi told Windu and Yoda that Dooku said the Republic was already on control of the Sith and no one believed that. The council knew how close Anakin and Palpatine were. Why would you not connect the dots

Palpatine was a big external factor in Anakin’s fall to the dark side. The Jedi should have been more understanding though of his vulnerable situation. Instead of telling him just suppress your fears and feelings. This is what I wish the sequels had dealt with.

He did initially reject Palpatine's offer, which is why he reported back to Mace Windu. However, once Anakin waited alone in the council chambers, he changed his mind for Padmé. Anakin was a victim of people he saw as father figures. One kidnapped him from his mother to use him to fulfill a prophecy he was fixated with until Maul skewered him. Another was obsessed with controlling the galaxy and saw Anakin’s power and mistrust in the Jedi as an opportunity. Both cases Anakin was only a tool to both men.

His mother was murdered years later all cuz Qui-Gon ‘didn’t come to free slaves’ unless they were useful to him because he thought they were the chosen one. Qui-Gon wanted a prophecy fulfilled Anakin was just a means to that end. Palpatine wanted the Jedi order to fall and he used Anakin to make it happen. Neither Qui-Gon nor Palpatine gave a genuine damn about Anakin he was just something they both could use.

@@nightwingman666 The Jedi Order who ran security for the Republic didn't have influence on Tatooine. Qui-Gonn was a renegade who felt the will of the force and felt Anakin was the Chosen one. He likely would've came back for her but was killed brutally by Maul so that shit fell apart.

@@Blackman1000ify this romanticization of Qui-Gon being the magic solution is crap. Even George Lucas himself said Qui-Gon was wrong to take Anakin from his mother. Make matters worse he touted Anakin as the Chosen one without ever explaining to him and what it meant all it did was give Anakin a sense of entitlement as he got older. Qui-Gon didn’t leave any future plans in the off chance he wasn’t there to help Anakin. Qui-Gon showed he was just as arrogant and shortsighted as any other Jedi.

As for your other point we really don't know what gui gon would have done since he died and he did try to free both the mother and anakin. Either way, anakin chose to leave and tatooine was not in the republic. Qui gon was limited in what he could do was he supposed to slaughter the whole planet and free all the slaves? That doesn't seem right either. At any rate the mother actually was freed anyway she died because of the tusken raiders and you have to remember no jedi had their mom with them most didn't even know who they were. Even if the mother was freed there is no guarantee she could have stayed with anakin anyway

In an early version of the script for Episode 3, Palpatine told Anakin that he had created him through the Force. This was eventually removed in later drafts. When James Luceno was writing the Darth Plagueis novel, George Lucas asked him not to elaborate too much on Anakin's creation and leave it more open-ended. Luceno then implied that Anakin was created by the midi-chlorians as a result of Darth Plagueis' and Palpatine's unnatural experiments with the Force. It has never been definitively stated in the lore that Palpatine actually created Anakin!

One of my favorite parts of the Revenge of the Sith novelization is when Yoda realizes that he failed the Jedi Order by allowing them to remain stagnant and never learn. It happens while he's fighting Palpatine
